At about this time last year everyone was talking about what a tough district 7-5a was. The big three in Lamar, DeSoto, and Duncanville had a dog-fight to claim the district title(also went 1-2 in bi-district play)...but this year they don't seem to be fairing too well. DeSoto got thrashed by Euless Trinity and beat a good-great Garland team. Duncanville got beat up by a confident Berkner squad, and Lamar got totally anihillated at the hands of Mesquite. For all the talk, is 7-5a really that bad, or will they get their act together? This is not meant to offend 7-5a fans. Their district has just been talked up a lot over the last year and I don't see what the fuss is about.

The season is only 2 weeks old, anything can happen in the next 8 weeks of the regular season...

7-5A is the only district I know of where every team has a loss. It's definatley going to be a down year in my opinion, but don't expect the contenders to change much. I'll be surprised if its not Desoto/Duncanville/Lamar in the playoffs, although I think the other teams in the district are capable of winning some games.

Dang 7-5a did start out bad.. It looks like it'll be a down year for Lamar, I think D'ville and Desoto will rebound though. Berkner wanted that game a lot more last week. I have no idea why they decided to pass it(it was a close game until they started doing that. If D'ville gets to the playoffs they atleast get out of the first round. That Euless game could be ugly if they end up as good as I'll think they'll be. But it's still too early to tell how the district will fair..

If Duncanville loses friday night to Coppell, it'll be a down year for them as well, Im starting to think people on this site are over rating Coppell, now I am a big Coppell fan, Will be to the day I die, but it might end up being a really close game

After what Mesquite did last year, I wouldn't put too much stock into non-district. Some teams have some young in-experienced players( Lamar for example). They are just taking their bumps and bruises right now. A lot of growth and improvement can happen before November. Then you have teams that will suffer injuries.

I will just wait to see how things pan out.

I think it's a down year if duncanville loses 2 or more games in District....maybe three....or if they lose no get blown out in the first round of the playoffs. That year Euless beat em and Arlington blew them out in the playoffs was a down year. That Coppell game should close it is in the Jungle. I guess Panther Stadium lost a little bit of it's luster since I left. We were undefeated there for a bout 2 or 3 years before Lamar beat us in 99. I can't say alot since I haven't seen the teams play it's either Duncanville 21-17 or Coppell 38-21 I'm just wildly guessing. I think Arlington Martin, Cedar Hill, or hell even Sam Houston or Arlington can step up a little bit if Lamar falls off. Damn it sucks being up here in Arkansas.

i wouldn't call 7-5A overrated....they were good last season, and not so good this season. that's the beauty of sports; things can change very quickly.

That's the beauty of 5A football, a team gets over confident and you can get blown out by a crappy team...

7-5A is a tough district, but yes they are overrated so far this season

So far this year they are overrated...I can agree with tha
As far as walmart the job is fun(as far as IT goes). But the area is just
...different. I went from Texas to Louisiana to Arkansas and high school in the last two states sucks(in my taste) There are about 5 good teams to watch in both Louisiana and Arkansas combined. I'd rather watch some Texas football. Besides that I guess it's decent....I won't retire here though.
