This is why Carroll is 77-1 since joining 5A.

This team continues to amaze me each time I watch them. Good game today.

Well, I sure hope there's a trend and SLC turns it over 4 times this Saturday!;)

A win is a win.

See y'all at Jerry's place.

Allen was the better team today - and almost lost anyway on a last second fg - but prevailed in OT - Allen was better.

Yah a really good family reunion for the Dragons.... but not so much for the Eagles.

Allen is going to be a very tough and talented team.

Only the great teams can turn it over that much and still win by a sizeable margin.

Another scary thing is, 2 of the turnovers would have most likely been for 7 points each. Props to Colleyville for stepping it up from earlier this year!

DEFENSE. That 1 word sums it up. SLC's rep comes from the offense, however, 2005 Champions and this year's bunch, thrives off of the play of the defense. When you play defense like SLC, you can overcome 4 turnovers and still win.

You think Colleyville stepped it up from earlier this year?. Let's compare first game stats and second game stats.

CV fans kept telling us the team had improved since the last game against SLC and that CV had a running game now as well - I did not see either; as a comparison between the stats of the 2 games show.

1st Game This Game
CV SLC CV SLC
First Downs 26 26 12 36
Rushing Yards 22 295 45 296
Passing Yards 167 241 121 236
Passing 23-51 17-26 12-30 20-30
Penalties 6-55 2-25 4-42 1-5
Total Yards 189 531 166 532

Only the scoreboard shows an improvement - the decline of SLC points scored to 33 is a result of the turnovers by SLC, nothing that Colleyville did.

Explain to me the improvement.

It's kind of surprising how close the stat's are between both games, but don't be so hard of CV, they did earn the turnovers.

The d-backs did read the plays very very well and did a awesome job on the returns. I saw on one of the threads about penalities only one unsportsman like on CV from where i was sitting the young man looked like he threw the ball at the official as the official was making his call whether it was intentional or not who knows but it looked like it hit where no man would like to be hit.

The defense for Cv was more improved than the first time in terms of effort. They were getting after it. However, the SLC game plan was pretty plain with the QB not quite being at par. I will congratulate CV on their effort. They did not quit.

To answer your question: I don't know how many teams can do it...but one of them is barrelling towards the D-II state championship...
