bsptlw you should make the dive up to Conroe and watch the Woodlands take on North Shore. This one is slowly becoming a rivaly to some and has produced two pretty decent game sin the two meetings between the two schools. Of course the first metting being 03's D1 title game which North Shore won quite easily. After all you've seen Katy so you might as well see one of the area's other top teams in action.

Lots of good football, but y'all know I'll be at Consol/Westlake! :)

I dont know to much about Bryan, except for they had Artell Woods last year and he was a playmaker. And they had a few solid wr's, but that could be because they had Blake Joseph, and if i'm not mistaken, he's long gone.

Im hoping that this game isnt even close like it was in 03. If we can shut out WM then Im hoping for our first back to back shut outs in a longgggggg time.

I've never actually been to y'alls stadium. Looking forward to it. I hear it's a really nice place.
After seeing our team a lot and seeing y'all dismantle Westwood last week, it should be a good game.
I'm a firm believer in playing the best teams you can play in the early season. No matter how it turns out, both teams will come out of it better I'm betting. I still think Consol will win, but I'm an admitted homer! :)
Normally, an O-line takes a few games to come together. In the Tombal scrmmage and the IKE game, consol's O-line played well as a unit. Very together, which is quite unusual this early. Two seniors, two juniors and a sophmore, they're quick and strong as heck.
Also our D-Line was simply unbelievable against IKE. We'll see how it goes on Friday night.

Our stadium is nice.
Turf, not astroplay but the stuff like in the astrodome. Jumbotron. I think it holds 12,000 people.
I dont know anything about AMC this year, do you guys still have that 5'8" 220 RB that killed us last year?

that stuff in the dome or Reliant? is it the kind of stuff that comes out in chunks? cleats or turf shoes?

Definately turf shoes,
Its like the stuff that was in the Old Astrodome.
The kind that is like a carpet, not the one w/ the black pellets.

I hated playing on that crap. Too many needless injuries. I wonder what the rationale is on that one in such a "nice" stadium. The wide outs and RB's ought to love it though.

After Woodlands getting dismantled by Katy two weeks ago, I'm betting they were happy to have the week off. I wonder how they'll rebound. Not an easy task to have to face North Shore. They could easily be 0-2 very quickly.

Dont know, it does give alot of turf burns. I still like grass better than anything else. But the pellets are annoying also.
Our guys just tape elbows and wrists and they do fine.

Ennis did everything except win the game last year. It was a good game that Garland did not deserve to win.

I'm hoping TWHS plays better - but there opponent in NorthShore is really tough - talk about (Not) easy schedules.
Plano East vs. SLC - might be decent
Garland vs. Ennis - should be interesting
Abilene High vs. Lubbock Monterey - don't know anything about Monty
Lee Vs. Colerain - enough said

Dallas Skyline vs Arlington
Dallas Carter vs Arlington Lamar

I think the Dallas schools can win both of those games. Lamar may have finally dropped off. Or maybe Mesquite is better than expected. I was at the Carter vs Mesquite playoff game last year and they looked pretty evenly matched to me. (28 -27 MHS on fumbled extra point snap for the rest of you).

Dragon the game is Saturday at 7 in Conroe.
And yeah on the Westlake turf topic I would think a school such as Westlake would have the new stuff just like everyone else. As Tiger Dude said that kind of turf is a torn knee or ankle just waiting to happen. One of the big reason Coach Aymond didn't pick the Dome for the 03' Championship game.

We REALLY need to focus!! I hope we at least show up for this one against Shore! Our O-Line better have spent some time in film and practice like they have played before or our new QB's will STINK up Moorehead!

I wish the Katy / Humble game wasn't being played at the same time the NS / Woodlands game is. I really wanted to see how the Woodlands faired against NS. In my opinion I think NS will win this one easily by say 35.

bryan still has good recivers but they are with out a good qb right now, there starting qb dislocated his arm in the first game agianst cy-falls, and bryan barely beat tomball, bryan comes out strong but do to lack of conditioning and the mental focus factor they shut down pretty easliy

This should be a good game for Northshore I figure the Woodlands will give them a good game. I hope the starters will have to play the whole game or most of it.
Can someone tell me why Northshore just walks onto the field at the start of each game and after half time? I just think they should more pumped up.

Are we watching the same games here. If you've really paid attention to them they are talking and jumping around before they go through the paper. And then once everyone has come through ti they meet in a huddle around the fifty and have one big mosh pit type thing. I think a lot of them just walkign on tot he field has to do with Coach Aymond not being a fan of showign up his opponents. To me it is far more intimidating to see a team come out the way we do. It tells whoever we are playing that we are focused and ready to go to war.

there are plenty of reasons including gosh-awful seating -there's not a good seat in the house, the prehistoric turf(it used to be smoother playing on the parking lot), and the general p-p ambiance of a football game in a baseball stadium.

Are you talking about westlake? They re-did the stadium in 2002, there are even those seats with the backs. Turf is only 3yrs old.
If you are referring to the turf that they replaced, you are correct, every pair of socks i own had green particles on it from the turf coming apart.

The first team I ever saw do that was Killeen Ellison when they were still 5a playing at Texas Stadium. Longview kicked their a$$.

The Woodz better throw some screen passes or dump-off passes to the running backs to try and slow down the NS defensive line. Draws and play action might help too. When I saw NS play Elsik it looked sometimes as if the NS defensive line was in Elsik's backfield ready to take the handoff from Elsik's QB. The Woodz punting game needs to be in top form until their offense gets rollin'.
Katy plays at 6:00p so I'm gonna miss the Woodz/NS game.
Good luck and good game, your Dukeness.
