First, great coaching staff. Second, very good coachable kids that get it right the first time and you dont have to keep telling them the same thing over and over. :)
Those are my 2 points.

you know the reasons, you've surely read about it plenty of times, and if your username is anything to go by you should be very familiar with SLC. This thread is pointless, and clearly you are just looking for people to blow sunshine up "our" (i use that term VERY loosely) *****, when really you are just going to make a lot of people angry.

steroids, good recruiting, NFL coaches comming in to help out, NFL players acually playing the game (that was Brandon Stockley not Renfro last week), joking SLC guys!! Had you going didnt I.
Thuth, just a very well rounded thing going on there. Talented/smart athletes, good tradition, good coaching staff, all the stuff you need, SLC has had it in the past and has it at the moment. One season this might change, but as of right now it is all working.

I can tell you after putting 2 kids through Carroll, with a 3rd in the 8th grade now...the kids just flat refuse to be the ones to let down the tradition of being the best....how long can they keep it up at this level? Who knows...

Hey, even without a title at SV, each year it gets more and more like this there as well. Not only do they not want to be the first to lose the great record SV has had the past several years, they want to be the first to get the title. I know exactly what you mean there.

hey zippy, hows SV looking this year? you have high expectations for them, they seem to be as good if not better than last year? give me some details man!

Not 100% yet. Like always they start off looking ok, but not great. I would say they have more talent overall then last year. They did beat Pflugerville (top 20) which was big, if they can take Judson, they should not have a ton of trouble in district, and hopefully they will roll to the state game again. Are they better than last year? Yes. Will they get as far as they did last year? Too early to tell. Hill at QB needs to work on a couple of things, he has to get the timing going to the great WR's that he has. The backfield is stacked. They should not have any trouble there once they figure out how to best use the 3 of them. If they end up like they have the past couple of years in the playoffs(way better than the first few games), and everyone stays healthy, they could have a great year.

thanks, same toward SLC, why dont you make sure to let them boys know that SV wants one more shot before its too late. They got too close last year to not get one more chance. Things may change to where they will not face each other again. Yea, Bryan Hill is Hill's son.

bryan hill, what grade? hows his stats? if hes a jr/sophomore you expect him to be an elite qb next year?
zippy

He is a Jr. He has a very good arm. I dont see him as an elite QB, but just the good solid reliable QB that SV has always had. He got some playing time in the playoffs last year. He was like 6 for 8 with 70 yards or so Friday. Of course he was out for a while with an injury. But you know SV, they dont really go for the big passes, they just work the clock. He had a couple of really good passes, and a very nice pass to Beyer for a conversion. He hit him in the only spot he could to avoid the DB, yet keep it in play. He also had a TD pass that was nice to Beyer after comming back in from the injury. He is smart and should get them to where they need to be. He needs to work on a couple of things, but his dad should have those worked out soon.

Dude, I didn't say it but you are an idiot if you don't realize that the money brings with it benefits and advantages that other kids dont have- from a mindset to facilities to exposure and to training. If you were intelligent enough to read all the posts, then you would see that nobody said anything negative and nobody doubts their work ethic, dedication or performance on the field. But money is an aspect and an assett to the Carroll results, albeit a small one.

As long as you realize the "small" benefit, then I cant argue with you. The post just said MONEY, like that was all that mattered. That is why I got fired up. I get sick of hearing it!

SLC O is sooo good because they are will coached. Example...Coppell knows they will get burned deep so they back off there CB 5-7yards off the SLC WRs. So what does SLC do? they throw 5-7yard stops on Coppell all day. The coachs know exactly what The opposing team is going to do.

katy dominated SLC - SLC didnt dominate smithson valley.

Katy dominated? Where did you come up with that? I don't think you would even find a Katy supporter who would agree with that, much less an objective observer...It was a very tight game that came down to the very last minute...Katy won, all props given....wow, you do like to start stuff don't you?....

C'mon Implac -- every third post of yours is just simply nonsense. Hartley makes that kick 90% of the time -- and SLC wins the game - domination? Please. A great, tight game that came down to a few plays.

I would be offended by your educated comment SL THUG but since you are a band geek and you pretend to know the eccentrics of your teams QB - down to his underwear - I will just consider the source.
my comment was directly relative to saying "we were 50 cents short that day" I know Katy didn't dominate SLC and I also know that saying the Dragons were 50 cents short in that title game is just like saying SV was 50 cents short.

Trust me, I am not a band geek. Far from it.
I don't know where this underwear thing came from. But it is funny how you have said nothing about McElroy's performance this week.

I'm a Katy fan and was at the game (loved it). The idiot who said "dominated" obviously wasn't. It was a super game that was a shame for either team to lose. TWO great programs!

BTW Implac --
I don't find one post of yours on the Judson - CC game Fri. night. I take that back - your one post said something to the effect of "we've talked it to death".
Seems your obsession is with putting down SLC -- rather than talking about your current Judson team. Fair statement or not?
implacable44
09-06-2005, 04:06 PM
no i talked about it. It was a good game that Judson lost and I believe I said something to the effect the difference in those two teams (judson and Cove) is that If Judson would have played up to their potential and won it would have been just another victory but cove played well and won - but for them it was like winning state.-- and I dont put SLC down - I find humor in you clowns and your ridiculously biased opinions. I debate your outlandish comments and claims. If you knew how to read, then you would see where I continually applaud those kids and their talent and their team. They play good - darn good football.

impacc, you are so good at starting drama...are you sure you're not a girl?? Every time I see you on the board, there's people fighting. Come on, you obviously weren't at the Katy game or you'd know SLC wasn't dominated. Dominated is when one team is completely killing the other in every aspect of the game.
Go Dragons....beat Plano East!
