I think Lee will finally get a win this week. Kimball has the athletes, but Lee has a better team than 0-2. What a schedule Coach Quis has them playing!

I just hope they show up for the California team (Clovis East). :D

I truly believe Lee has the potential to be a powerhouse. The talent is there. They just need to continue building on what they have and they will put it all together. I believe they will be very strong by the time District rolls around!!!!!!!!!!

Kimball has no business winning, but has much more talent than Midland Lee. Midland Lee has lost confidence like no other and needs a boost.

Do you not think they had the potential last year? Just looking at that, I figured they would make it very deep in the playoffs last year. What are your thoughts on this? Am I wrong? And what is going on that keeps them from getting it together?

New QB. Quite a few new starters on Offense. Defense has 1 starter from last year that returned. Defense has been spectacular at times as well as the offense. I think it's just early in the season and they have faced 2 top teams in the top 10. It's just a matter of time before the Rebels are running on all cylinders.

kind of like Texas Tech with all its Texas kids making Univ-Cal look like chumps in the Holiday Bowl. Heck, that was the Cal team that cried like babies for weeks saying they didnt need to play a inferior team like Texas Tech. Ooppss, didnt they look stupid after that game.

Its going to be really insulting for California when a Texas team that has at least 2 losses spanks Clovis East who will probably be undefeated. Not going to say much for California High school football. :D

By the way.. Midland Lee has a pretty good RB themselves.

I'm also not going to knock Midland Lee to much. They played two of the toughest teams in Texas (SLC and Trinity) who I would 99.9% could beat anyone in California.

Midland Lee probably would of gone further in the playoffs last season if their QB wasnt hurt. He was playing on a very bad ankle that he hurt in the last regular season game against Abilene. That injury really restricted his cutting and speed.

If it wasnt for that injury they would of gotten probably to the quarter-finals.

I figured state before the first game. The QB/RB threat alone was crazy. I am talking about games like the SLC/Lee game early on. I honestly figured that Lee could have beat them, and they lost bad. They had a couple of games like that where I figured they had the talent to win, but ended up losing.

I could be wrong but I think Midland Lee was (8-2) last year in the regulars season. They lost to SLC and they lost to Abilene High in game 10 that Midland Lee was winning until the very end. Honestly they should of beaten Abilene. They had a 65 yd touchdown called back and McCoy got hurt with about 7 minutes in the game and it hurt him alot.

The SLC game.. Come on buddy. SLC was a returning State Title contender that had about 12 starters back with a very good QB.

Midland Lee had a new coach, new Qb, new schemes and they didnt even have Spring football in 2004. They had about 3 weeks of good football practice with everything new going up against a very Salty seasoned experienced Southlake Carroll team in game 1. The odds just didnt favor Midland Lee.

I can tell you if those two teams would of played in November ( both healthy) it would of been alot tougher game.

I've seen both teams this year. Lee against SLC and Kimball against Carter. Carter ran at will against Kimball. If Lee has a good line, they will probably do the same.

As far as Lees defense, its hard to judge against SLC because they make everybody's D look bad!! I do remember how well they played in that 1st quarter. If they can maintain that they should be alright. They will have to contain Kimball's RB Phillip Tanner to be successful. Again Carter held Kimball to -17 yards of rushing so they are stoppable.

my pick for this game is Lee.

Yea, I understand all the issues, but like I said, I just figured even with everything that was, that Lee would have had a better game against them. I guess now that I look at who they lost to, they did fair well last year. I really didnt keep up with them too much due to SV being in the playoffs. Maybe they will get things going this year, they seemed to do well in the 1st quarter and part of the 2nd against SLC.
