Allow me to quote ( a very large quote) a piece of text from the Rattler Diamondbacker Website:

Review of game DVD confirms that Laredo United QB Garcia did NOT set state passing record vs Reagan

Dave Campbell's Texas Football is reporting that Laredo United QB A Garcia set a state record of 595 yards passing vs. SA Reagan this past Saturday. Their "blog" cited Coach David Sanchez's "written affidavit" as confirmation.

The game film (I viewed every play last night) shows that Garcia did not break the record. It was close. It was a heckuva performance. Garcia lit Reagan up for 380 yards in the 1st half. His 146 yards in the last half of the 4th quarter, after Reagan extended its lead to 72-34, was almost enough to get the state record (590 yards). But the game film shows that he was 3 yards short of that, and 8 yards short of what DC's Texas Football has credited him.

Here is a log of every single snap that Laredo United took on offense (excluding extra point attempts and successful punts). Either I've made an honest mistake, or the person who vouched for 595 yards made an honest mistake... I believe it's the latter.

Lol, you think Rattler typed all that on himself? No you silly boy. He got it from the Author just like he said. I think Author did a great job doing that, not Rattler but the way he posted it on here. :D

The Wichita Falls paper said it, too.

The guys on the radio said Tre' Newton got 301 today, but the paper says 296.

It's not like measuring passing yards is an exact science.

Consider.. if a QB passes for 6 1/3 yards, he is only credited with 6. If he does it three times, he is credited for 18, but in fact actually passed for 19.

The fact that someone was petty enough to go and dissect an entire game film is astounding. It smells to me like a Reagan fan was upset that a Laredo qb torched them for record yardage, and set out to "prove" he really didn't. Not surprisingly, they found it.

Let the kid have his 15 minutes. Reagan won the bigger prize.

Nevermind these Reagan fans. Their team just got lucky in district and reaped the benefits of a weak region til Westlake dropped kicked them out of the playoffs! Instead of ragging on Judson you Reagan fans should praise them for bringing some respect to San Antonio & Region 4! I mean ,if it was up to Reagan San Antonio football would be a laughing stock!

I agree with you on that one. No matter what they say, I bet it still goes in the record books unless Reagan is going to show a game film to dispute it. Look what happened the week after they did all of this. They lost!

I figured it was going to be about the Reagan guys needing to stop griping about the record or lack thereof.

Reagan deserved the wins they got. They weren't dominant, but they played well for a few weeks.
