High School preseason explanation please?

This is the first year in many years that I have followed high school football so please forgive my ignorance, but in several different threads I've heard people talking about preseason games. Are the high schools now playing preseason games, and if so how many do they play?

The only true "preseason" games are scrimmages, which mean absolutely nothing...unless you're from Longview. ;)

Yeah, 10 is the limit and there have been teams in the past that played more than 10.

If you want to see a team act like they won the Super Bowl after a scrimmage however, you should've seen what Pine Tree did after they beat Longview in a scrimmage back in 98 or 99.
