Hate to say it, but SLC already saw the best rushing offense in the state in ET. And Trinity had a little over 200 yards I think. Thats still giving up a lot of yards on the ground, but Pearland would either match that, or have a little less. They wouldn't reach 300 though.

I think they would have a little more trouble with the dual threat though.. Again not saying we would win or even keep it within one possesion. Just saying I think we would get yards. Their run D is not as good as Shores was.

Just one problem with your observation. North Shore are no more and SLC is still alive. Oh, by the way - Permian had -17 yards rushing (yes minus) on 17 attempts.

I guess because people just do not want to see sporting excellence. That is why people want Tiger Woods to lose, or the Cowboy’s in the early 90s to lose, etc. I want to be able to say to my grandkids. Tiger Woods was greatest and I saw him play. I want to able to say “You know back in the 2000’s Southlake Carroll won ‘x’ championships and I saw them play. I love to see sporting excellence, no matter the sport, no matter the team.

This is coming from a H-town perspective only:

If SLC plays Westfield, the Westfield running game and defense will test the Dragons.

Cy Fair has an amazing running game and defense themselves. So if the finals shape up as SLC vs. Cy Fair the Dragons will have been pounded for two weeks in a row by powerful, speedy running games.

Can the Dragons hold up? We will have to wait and see.

I will call a Cy Fair win now if this thing plays out with Westfield in the semis and Cy Fair in the finals. Cy Fair can really grind it out with decent play action passing and play solid defense.

Maybe its the attitude of a number of the SLC posters. A lot of you guys refuse to let someone else have an opinion if you feel it takes attention away for Carroll. Carroll is the BEST until someone beats them. No argument there. BUT....It is OK to recognize that other programs might actually do one or two things as well or even better than Carroll. As I said, Carroll is the BEST overall team until someone dethrones them, but they are NOT the best at every single phase of the game.

As much as I want a rematch against Westfield, there's not much doubt in my mind that the Dragons will play a solid game and win with a decent margin over them. It will be the ultimate honor to play SLC if we make it to the finals.

all this about sc's run defense. we had an off day and still kept ET in check. if you havent seen ET play you cant compare your run game to theirs. they are HUGE. i have never seen a hs team as big. o-line averaged 295:eek: (according to radio). SC can and will keep any other running team they play from getting momentum. the D did not let the permian players get settled in. it was light out and the D will continue to play that way.

im not doubting that SLC would win the game against westlake but itd be a good game..I dont think they would embarass westlake like they do with other teams...U have 2 big powerhouses goin head to head...Both teams have good qb's, both teams have more then one rb that they can count on..SLC has more receivers to throw to but westlake can still throw the ball successfully. SLC's defense is way more stacked then westlakes D is but they have a great persue defense and unless u have 4.4 receivers who can break away down the field then westlakes cb's have that coverd...i think that if it comes down to westlake and slc then its not gunna be a blow out game..

from a historical aspect, westlake would be more favorable. td's father in law has some few ties to westlake, and they were kind of the slc of the 90's. we just want the invite. whoever shows up across the dome will be fine.

yea dodge's father in law is the athletic director for westlake. I laughed last year when i saw coach neptune decked out in slc gear holding a camera...thats a true football family right there tho...gotta love it.

whole o line coming back minuse one. starting RB coming back and will not have to split time this year with a senior. Best WR coming back. better QB this year who should have been there last year but there is a thing called coaches son( but he did just fine this year) 2 LB's coming back 2 DB's and @ D-line man

We have a whole team! Wright may be our most used weapon but I know of may 1-3 teams who wouldve packed it in after there coach put in a Soph at QB. We couldve thought our season is over but we didnt we bowed up and had a great run and now we are playing Westlake. Reagan is many things but we dont lack faith in the whole team.

I think he was just trying to say that the SLC D isn't a good as what NS had. The difference between SLC and NS 2006 is that SLC has a consistent O AND the D will play full throttle the entire game not just the 1st quarter like NS.
