Now that Lufkin is out my vote goes to Cedar Hill - at least in the Metroplex. I understand Spring Westfield is pretty quick but without a doubt the Longhorns are the fastest team I've witnessed thus far. Their defense can get to the ball in a hurry and their receivers are fleet footed too. I'd like to tip my hat to em for a great season - their 1st playoff appearance in school history! Here's a nice feature on how they got here.

I think a little slow dragon team proved execution will beat speed...and pretty handily too.

If you have a lot of speed, you don't have any teamwork. Or that's what a few have been saying the last couple of days...

If Cedar Hill is faster than Westfield on D, then I'll have to drive up and see them. Westfield can fly...even their tackles are fast.:)

you have not seen riley dodge with the ball then. he is the probably the fastest most agile QB in the state. 4.3 or low 4.4 fast

You should watch highlights of Leander's QB, he's scary running

William Cole is quicker in my opinion.

Speed is one thing you cannot coach; but it is a great attribute to have in any player; however it is wasted if it not correctly harnessed and utilized. Speed without skill and correct coaching is meaningless.

If there's a better dual threat QB in the state than Willy Cole I want to see him. Cole's got lateral and straight line quicks.

i think he is the best running QB.for sure! but a true dual threat also posseses passing proficiency that would be well better than avg.
w. cole is avg. passer at best..but he is so superior in the running i guess it makes up for the few draw backs in his passing.

Indeed he is quick and elusive. I know why some refer to him as Mini-Vince.

If you are talking about the whole team that is one thing, but Garland has 3 players who were on a 4x100m team last year that ran the 2nd fastest time in the nation...one of whom was second in the state in the 200m...as a sophomore

Well.....I guess we are just gonna have to get Westfield and Cedar Hill at a neutral sight and pair them up one on one and see who comes out faster......Alright, now that my sarcasm is finished, I haven't seen Westfield play but I would find it hard to believe there is a faster team in the state than Cedar Hill. Perhaps as fast, but not faster. Their team speed is ridiculous.......I am thinking the people saying Will Cole's passing is below average haven't seen him passing the ball. For an athlete turned quarterback he throws a beautiful ball. And from some of the quarterbacks I have seen this year, I would find it hard to believe that Cole is a worse thrower than half the quarterbacks in the state. Just my opinion.

If you see them play then you wouldnt find it hard to believe at all... On both sides of the ball these boy's can fly! Literally...lol

Garland is rediculously fast and so is Westfield. But, Cedar Hill and DeSoto are the two fastest left and I'm not joking. Not to mention, DeSoto is the ONLY team that has had a chance at beating the Longhorns this season. DeSoto had a 20-0 lead going into the 4th and, well, s--t happens. One more thing, DeSoto and Cedar Hill are neighborhood/next door rivals and COULD be playing each other again next week.

Saw Leander on tape and they're up there too, but Cedar Hill and DeSoto, without a shadow of a doubt.

ive seen some film of John Chiles he seems pretty fast at the qb position. but on the subject of speed sometimes teams might try to use it againtst you,but spring westfield looked pretty fast

Cedar Hill and Lufkin's O - WF's D - no doubt. Round Rock's pretty swift at the skill positions.

Can we factor in the amount of weight being moved at a fast speed?

You know my vote.

Hebron has pretty good team speed. We have some guys on our roster that could keep up with Cedar Hill, just not enough.

If you are saying DeSoto is fast, well Garland beat them 28-14 this year. I dont think just because one player is fast you have team speed. You would bring hard pressed to find 3 guys faster than Garland's 3 fastest.

Hawks are a great team, great talent across the roster -- but Cedar Hill takes it to the next level with speed all over the place -- enough to catch a spectator off-guard if you sit down expecting a normal pace.

Really, well, where were they at the state track meet last year? If you can send a track team to state and do what out guys did, then we can talk about it. Yes, 3 of those guys are still on the team this year and all will go D-1.

most of the fast guys at berkner dont even run track bc they want to be in offseason for football so comparing track times isnt good.... but come talk to me when you have over 5 guys run a 4.3 on your team

4.3 hand held or electronic? Since they don't run track, prolly hand held, and the inaccuracy of hand held has been widely studied. It's was estimated that only about 5% of reported times under 4.4 are legit.

Normally I try to be biased but I ran track with these guys...

http://www.texastrack.com/Track%202006/06t_uil_state_championships.htm#5A%20BOYS

40 times are inaccurate - i wont believe a time unless I see it in print from a track and field meet posting.

Garland's 3 speedsters do their track practice after football practice - so you cant really use that excuse. And they are still good at football as Malcolm Williams is the #76 recruit in the nation, Dwight Hamilton is getting recruited, whileJacquez Caldwell is a junior. I would take Garland's top 3 guys in the 40 yard dash, 100m sprint or 200m sprint against Berkner's top 3 and probably our top 5 too. That group of guys plus current Iowa state DB Devin McDowell ran the 13th fastest time ever in the nation in the 4x200m race. I know this topic is irrelevant but the only team who could really say anything on this topic to compare would be Houston Eisenhower if their track athletes play football as well.
