Good game if you are a Westlake fan! We left in the 4th Q. Unless some unforeseen miracle happened, not likely, it was a bit of a blowout. Lots of interceptions from Westwood's QB.
Heard an interesting tale about last week's Leander game (I was sitting on the westlake side). Westlake QB's Dad went nuts after last weeks loss and was Strangling the Offensive Coordinator after the game.
Anyone get that one on tape? Haha!
Westlake played a fine game tonight. 40-something to 17 when we left.

do you know anything of this Sprewell-type event after the Leander game? I heard a lot of folks in the stands talking about it. apparetnly all is well, the kid must be a heck of a QB to have them put up with his dad strangling the coach! Not the kids fault his dad is whack. :)
And, it was a romp for sure. That running back you guys have is a real load. Also, that number 17 on defense was a heck of baller.
Was the tightend playing both ways? Another good player. (40?)

I diddnt get to watch the game, im living in Ft. Collins CO going to CSU.
We dont usually play players both ways what was the # TE is 85, i noticed that in the writeup in the Austin Amer Satesman, they said Minor(28) rushed for 175yds but diddnt mention Dornak(35)? Some times the newspaper dosent get things quite right.
17 is Cory Bost, he is listed as a WR but i guess they could have put him on D, he was the #4 WR last yr, i guess with Ball (8) and Jobe(2) and Adams (85) they diddnt need another WR.
Brad Ballew(21) seemed to have a good game too.
Foles is a hoss, and Jobe had like 2 recieving TD and a rushing TD?
Jees that guy needs to be locked up, Coach Ross is a good guy and trying to physically hurt him is way over the line. Plus coach ross could probably take him, he is like 6' 3" 230 at least (I spotted him one time repping 225 on decline closegrip bench)

Dornak got hurt and went into the dressing room for the rest of the game. It looked like it might have been a knee. If anyone has an update on his status, I'd like to hear it. Minor played a great game, but I'd sure hate to lose Matt.

One other thing--#2--Staton Jobe, a track star (he's won the district 100 yd dash and competed in that event at state a couple of years) is the only one I know of who's playing two ways--as a split end and in the defensive back field.

Will a Westlake fan answer this for me. Is Max Minor you guys starting rb now. He looked alot better than Dornak, and last night Minor had 25 carries. Starting rb or not?

I don't know if he started last night or not, but he was running well. Westwoods defense was worn out. Momentum seemed to shift to Wood during the 3rd, but Lake took it back seconds later. Game over.

Dornak was the starter at the beginning of the season, rushed for 1300yds last year. Sounds like he got hurt and Minor picked up the slack. I hate to loose dornak, he is good, and having him and Minor in the backfield at the same time would be a hudge threat.
Fridays game with Console is gonna be a good one, it could go either way. I cant wait.

I'm sure its not just my opinion, but i think that Max Minor is the better rb. He looked sharper on his cuts, he looked alot faster, and he ran hard. He didnt go down easily, neither went down easy but Minor seemed like more of the total package.

Dornak is bigger and stronger, he is also fast and can make moves. But Minor is small and shifty and way faster, and makes sharper cuts. he averaged 7ds/ carry last year.
But i think that Dornak's size and strength make him the better choice, but since they are both on the same team hopefully we can get them both on the field at the same time. Dont know about this injury but i hope its not too serious, and Dornak can suit up next week... well sure need him.

Dornak is out for the season, he broke his tibula or fibula, forgot which one, all the way down to his ankle, similar injury to what happened to Selvin Young. Max Minor (#28) is now the starting running back, and he showed he was able, 25 carries 175 yards 2 TDs I think. The playcalling was much better this week. And the QB's dad did not strangle the offensive coordinator. They also have Jobe (#2), and Bost (#17) playing both ways sometimes.
