Lufkin remains in Top 25, but Euless Trinity falls out. SLC moves up to #3. And somehow, by the grace of God, some New York team entered the Top 25! I guess they're supposed to be better than Katy, North Shore and many more Texas teams? Righttt!

Thats total crap. Not that Lufkin did not drop out but that ET does. If some team plays the supposed number 3 team in the nation to a 1 pt game how do you justify taking them out of the top 25? Hell that would be argument enough to say they should be top 10.
I love it when "Whover" lost early this year they fell down to #9, but ET gets beat by 1 point and falls out.
This is why I cant and wont ever buy into the so called national rankings for High School. You have idiots who put together these so called polls.

No, Trinity is better than the Jets.

after reading the link, i have to question their logic. Colerain does not even drop out of the top 25, they lost to a team who was not even ranked the week before by 4 pts. How can you drop Trinity who lost to the previous number 5 team by 1 pt who is now your number 3 team? Makes absolutely no sense.

Because Lufkin got it handed to them by a weak team.

Surprised they stayed ranked.

You're so right they judge on strength of win not strength of LOSS. Good point I think ET should of stayed in not Lufkin. Love that HAKA.

From what I have seen of these teams, Lufkin and Trinity, both of them belong.

It would take forever, but it would still be fun. Logistically it's not plausible but I'd love to see Texas's best go up against the other parts of the nations.

Weak team? Should be more like "Team of the Weak". Too bad the
Austin Hatesman (statesman) newspaper didn't consider this RR win a major UPset. (tiny photo and article in Sunday's paper). Go Rock!

Trinity definitely should not have dropped out but to say LP all the sudden could not compete with Katy and NS because they lost a rare game is silly. They had a horrible day but they were still a very very talented team that was capable of beating anybody. Last time I checked NS lost in the 2nd round also? In the end they are just meaningless national polls and there is no reason to get worked up about them?

That's why National polls are a freaking joke..

Somehow I find it totally funny that a New York HS team is suppose to be better than Euless Trinity. ET would "CRUSH" any HS team from New York. It wouldnt even be a football game.

Even though they lost.. I have no doubt that ET and Lufkin are both Top #25 national teams. Round Rock is probably a legit Top #50 National Team.

PS. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If we could get the "LEGIT NATIONAL TOP 50 Teams." On an average Texas caliber year there would be about 15 Texas teams in those Top 50.

Plus, Texas would have more teams in those Top 50 than any other State.

No doubt.. Lufkin is without a doubt a top #10 Texas team. They just came out flat and never really got on track. Blame it on many things, but Lufkin is still a top #10 Texas team.

PS. Round Rock is probably peeking at the right time also and they can probably give dang near anyone in Texas a pretty scrappy game right now. Not saying they would beat everyone,, just saying they can probably stay in a close game with about anyone "Right now."

I was kind of thinking that Trinity should have moved up. We lost by 1 point to the number 3 team, and lead in score longer than a quarter.

I would tend to agree, or at LEAST say they should've stood pat where they were...

I've always wondered how a college team can lose, say 24-21, they were ranked #10 and lost to #2, yet they somehow drop to #24...

Nah, it's cool. Personally, I was looking forward to the Lufkin vs SLC match-up. If there's anything positive we can take from this season (other than the success of Texas HSFB)....is the depth of Texas HSFB. At one point - or another - there were several different teams that made the USA Today Top 25, and several of them were beaten. (Lufkin, Garland, North Shore, Euless Trinity, to name a few.) Thing is, these teams could probably beat 95% (if not more) of the USA Today Top 25 teams!;)

You hate Lufkin because of what some pollsters did? If that's so, then you were just looking for a reason. Lufkin has nothing to do with how they are ranked by people who are God knows where.

Lufkin did loose and will not be playing anyone. The poll should reflect that.

Just goes to show you how worthless these polls are. Trinity is ranked and then plays another highly ranked team and loses by 1 point, yet gets dropped from the polls?? How stupid. I am cancelling my USA Today subscription. The Texas State Championship is the ultimate goal anyway. If SLC is #1 in Texas, Trinity should be #2.

That is fine I could care less if they were still in this poll or not. I could see it both ways. I do not give a rat's a-- about national polls to tell you the truth. When they announce the # of div1a recruits this LP team has or will have then you will see how much ridiculous athletic talent this team had. But a load of college talent alone does not win championships. Many other factors as we all know.

i totaly agree with you on this one ET played an amazing game and my thoughts on it are they should have won BUT SLC got lucky dont get me wrong SLC is a great team but they were out played. Im not saying that garland isnt the same way so dont start goin there but man i have got to give it to ET good job and sry that some people somewhere dont see the value of a great teams spirit.

i think that if that ever happened it would prolly come down to 2 Texas teams prolly SLC and maybe Lufkin or Katy (but i would love to see Garland play SLC) i think we might be able to keep our own and that would be amazing.

Don't get too spoil about Ranks because only less than 1% of the Nation's teams only get on the Top 25. Even 10% of the State of Texas only enters the Top 25 so don't get spoil. :) (Don't mention about my math). :D
