Last Coppell td, done on the 2nd string D

56-24 final

Carroll is the real deal guys...McElroy went 28 for 36 for 300 yards & 4 more touchdowns...Riley Dodge played every 3rd series and was all world...we are fortunate to be so deep at WR & QB. The O-line was outstanding and the D adjusted well & shut down one of the states best runners, Emanuel Moody, in the 2nd half. Coppell had no answers for the Carroll O, once again....I believe the Dragons set an all time team record for first downs tonight also...

We left mid-4th quarter with score 56 to 18. SLC missed a field goal early but scored on every possession other than that. Coppell was very strong early; their running game was moving the ball with ease. Moody is a great back. McElroy had incredible protection as SLC's offensive line controlled the line of scrimage all night. McElroy played every offensive down until the game was out or reach. Riley came in and looked great running the ball. He is very quick and moved the offense well. Trey Newton had a couple of nice runs. I'd vote McKay Jacobson as player of the game (again). Renfrow and Fentriss and several other receivers had some nice catches and a couple of TDs.

Both Coppell and SLC had many fans there. The stadium was pretty much full on both sides.

what a first half of football by both teams Coppell started strong but the SLC O was just to good...Moody played at CB to try and match SLC corners, if they meet up again in the play-offs it might be even closer

mckay has 20 catches already for 300 yards and 4 tds/ - looking pretty good. i would have to repeat - he is the best player on that team and probably would have been last year had he not suffered the injury.

moody is a beast -

He had a good game but was not a factor after the Carroll adjustments in the 2nd half. He got a lot of yards in the first half on cutbacks against over-pursuit. The Carroll D stayed in their lanes in the 2nd. He is a quality back...

how many yards did moody end up with?

well over 150, greg ran all over Coppells D, and Coppell had no answere to the short yard passing, they knew if the played tight they would get burned deep, but if they play back they would lose the short passes...Moody played great on D...He might get some playing in the secondary during district against the passing teams. great game i have to say it was close till mid way through the 3rd...my hat goes off to the Coppell and Southlake fans for giving Coppell Stadium a rare sell out...Good luck to SLC the rest of the season, and I hope to see y'all SLC fans again in the bi-district play-offs...

Did anyone else notice how dirty Coppell was playing tonight. From what I heard and could see Coach Dodge was real pissed at the officials for not calling it. But all around pretty solid 2nd half for the Dragons. Mac had a good completion percentage and Riley played real good also.

Prayers go out to Ford and I hope he recovers. Hope his surgury and rehab and everything go well.

but nobody got caught so its still "clean", dad always says to me its considred legal till you get caught.., good game lots of hard hits, and they didnt call pass interferance, a few times like that obvious time with renfro, when we all startred booing, the ref got in the way a few times, and southlake thug your a senior right? so i assume you sit in the senior pit area, did somebody pour water on some coppell band kids, i think a couple of coppell fans through stuff at us

Yeah it may have been tipped. Ortega also supposedly popped his hip out of place during that kick. They had to put it back in place during halftime from what I have heard.

And that southpaw is named Robbie Walker. And yes he was warming up for virtually the whole game, becasue that it what he does. Ortega has nothing to worry about, nor anyone on the team.

Moody is a good solid back. Coppell asked to much of him imo. He was a rb, cb, and kick returner last night. Thats to much on one players shoulders imo. SLC is soooooo deep at wr it is scary.

He might see alot more playing time at CB it was technically free safty Coppell just walks the FS up a CB, He tore y'all up in the first half, if had kept it going he would have had well over 500 yards rushing, he ran for 100 first qter yards and about 246 first half yards, he finished with just shy 280yards and two TDs...Moody is for real you guys but you are right he was doing alot of stuff...They pulled moody when y'all got two TDs a head, they want everyone healthy for district

cc 57, if we play again, you think it'll be even closer? how would that be? would we go to the ground game earlier? on the other hand, that was the best back we've faced in 5a ball. he compares with c robertson of denison. evans is good, but imo doesn't compare to moody.

Moody had 32 yards in the 2nd half, for a total of 180 for the game according to the DMN, he muffed a kickoff out of bounds at the 3, & tried to play D, I think your coach wore him out a little....remember the halftime score? I think the Dragon D adjusted.

We made the trip up for the game. Very impressed by Moody...one of best we've seen. SLC told us Offensive Player of The Game, McElroy, set a SLC completion record w/28. I, together with partner had him 28/36 (78%)/276 yds w/no drops/fumbles and a couple of drops...and another 63 yards rushing (7 ypc) in the less than the 3 quarters he was allowed to play...interesting. Conversation indicates he considers himself a prostyle QB that can run...and so he does. Cute moves for young man his size. He put two defensive players down w/his power/strength. Scouts from SEC, B10, PAC10 there to observe him; conversation indicated they continue to be impressed. McElroy graded extremely high as did offensive line. Defensive unit looked very good after half time adjustments. Our grading of Agrew concurred w/selection as Defensive Player of Game. Backup Dru Winsett (?) looked extremely good at safety. Dragon team also set a record w/40 1st downs. Impressed w/both Southlake and Coppell folks....Great sportsmanship. They did you NTX folks proud. Go Dragons!!!!!
