Now it is time for district play to start. Right out of the chute...Falls/Fair. There were several Fair coaches scouting last night's falls/westfield game, so both sides know how important this opener will be. What is everyone's take on this one?

Heck half the team was sitting near us in their jersey's no less. There was some major scouting going on. I saw an Alief scout - wasn't sure if Westfield was playing out there or what because we aren't playing them. Maybe he just liked the Alief shirt ;)
I think we will "fair" (no pun intended) well against them but it will be a tough battle as usual. Can't wait for that one. :)

I THink Alief Taylor plays Westfield in a few weeks

right now, fair comes into the game sporting the usual high scoring offense and stiffling defense. shaping up to be a great game as usual. and who said fair would be #3 in the district? any picks on this one?

Man, this one is a hard one to choose. Being a fan of the Bobcats, I have to pick Cy-Fair. Being objective, I would have to say it is a toss up. Cy-Falls has so many athletes who are very dangerous. Cy-Fair can win this game if they can establish the run. If they can control the clock, the Bobcats will come out victorious.
Bring on Saturday!!!

I agree it will be a close one. i have not seen fair yet this year, but they may have a difficult time establishing the running game. falls did a pretty good job of slowing down westfield's running game last week.

I think Cy Falls will come out victorious on this one - it will be a close one though!! IMO, Brekke should have more throwing room than last week and our defense is just really up to the job I believe...they seem to be very strong thus far. They really came down at times on the Westfield running game. Just hope the special teams unit is awake this week...without the flubs of last week - that game is MUCH closer. The stats proved that.

One more day until the game. Are there any insiders who have heard anything or seen either of these teams in practice? How do they look? What is the attitude? Man I wish this game was tonight so I would not have to beg for information!
I see that Langham Creek beat Cy-Ridge last night. Jenkins appears to be the real deal early on. The big question is whether the Lobos can sustain the success they are having. I have not seen LC play yet but it is clearly evident that they are a totally different team this year. I wonder if anyone will bash the coaching staff this year if they hit a rough spot (like they did all last year)? Congrats to the Lobos on a good start.

If Langham keeps it up, they will be a formidable foe indeed. Their defense seems to be struggling though - lots of points against. They have, however, won 3 more than last year after 3 games so they have to be feeling pretty good right now. Jenkins seems like the real thing so far!!
Bring on Cy Fair already!!! Can't wait for that one...should be hard hitting.

Cy-Falls
Cy-Fair should have beaten Victoria by a bigger margin. It was only 7-0 at the half. They should have had more points up by then.

This will be a very telling game either way. I still think that these are the two strongest teams in the district until they prove otherwise. It is always such a rivalry (the two CF schools!). These schools are spitting distance from one another so it's like one big neighborhood get together...lots of fun (unless you're on the losing end). Let's go GET 'EM EAGLES!!!

falls/fair should be a good game. i have not seen the bobcats yet so all i can comment on is the point spread they are putting up each week. kinda scary.
falls had a good game against bryan (i was told "dominating" by my son who saw the game). and then they beat westfield in stats but lost BIG in the special teams arena.
should be a good contest to see where each team is. GO EAGLES!!!

First of all, let me say congrats to the Bobcats. Those guys played a heck of a game and just seemed to want it more than Cy Falls. Second, I am wondering what bus our offense left town on and when are they returning? Or maybe it's just that Cy Fair is THAT good. I officially wish to change my picks! Cy Fair will win this district hands down. Second may just be Langham. Falls is going to have to really do something to convince a lot of people that they will even be in the top 5 at this point. I am just hoping that Fair is just a really good team and ours isn't as bad as the one that showed up tonight. Just because they rank you guys high at the beginning of the season is no reason to rest on your laurels. Our defense didn't look too bad and special teams made up for last week. Our offense - hhhmmmm...not sure what happened there. Tillman was trying to do a Vince Young...not happening. Brekke couldn't buy a first down and he's usually like money. I will say the Bobcats had some serious pass defense going on. Oh well, next year my neighborhood gets rezoned to Cy Fair and one of my kids may want to transfer so I guess I may be riding the fence anyway.
Now I'm watching the Texas game so I'm even MORE irritated. COME ON HORNS!!! Don't do this to me!!!!!

It was a very good game. I know Falls lost, but their defense is freaking fast and good. Fair came ready to play tonight and themselves were stifling on D. The Bobcats have to play Tomball next, a team they have not beaten in district so far.

I like the LC QB, but let's wait and watch next week. Falls has a very good front 7. Maybe best in the league.. Fair, which has the best O-Line in the league (imho) had some touble with Falls front 7. I would think that Falls takes care of business next week. I could be wrong. Could Falls go to 0-2, i doubt it. Look for Falls to rebound and beat LC.

maybe the trash talk comes from the same place the lack of determination came from. the difference in effort put forth on the field the other night reminded me of a eggs and bacon breakfast with falls as the chicken and fair as the pig.
and whats up with the short dump passes all night long when you have recievers with that kind of speed and a strong arm in the backfield? the only real success in the passing game came late (too late) when falls tried to go downfield to catch up! the running game was not what i had expected after seeing it the week before against westfield. fairs front 7 had it shut down!
Congrats to FAIR. Great game played on your side of the ball!
I have said several times that falls could easily start this season 0-3 if they start slow. After the first 2 games, i thought they had it going.
maybe this game is just another supporting fact in how balanced and strong 175A is.
