Who was trash talking?

If anything....it was the one Jay fan who wasn't here that often.

How did Westlake look? From the scores thread it looks like they led the entire game, so I assume they controlled the game. Did Minor play?

Minor did play the whole game. The offense played really well, and Jay really couldn't stop them. That's the good news. The bad news was our defense really couldn't stop them either.

I haven't heard the stats--but it was definitely an offensive game. Officiating was pretty stinky, though. Let me ask those of you who know the rules (I'm just a fan). Jay took a kickoff in the endzone and did not take a knee. The player was tackled in the end zone by a Westlake player. Is that a safety or a touch back? They put a safety on the scoreboard and then ruled it a touchback because the Jay player had never come out of the end zone. Also on their last touchdown, we were called for a late hit that the replay (thanks to the Alamodome big screens) clearly showed didn't happen--our player "rode" the Jay runner out of bounds where they both fell down.

Oh, well, it didn't make a difference this week--I just hope we don't have that crew again.

Jay fans were great. They've got a really good team and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs next year.

Anyone know when/where our regional semi-final with Los Fresnos is next weekend?

chap fan, if the player never takes the ball out of the end zone, it is a touchback, no question about it. For it to be a safety, the return man has to have possession of the ball outside of the endzone and then get tackled behind the goal line...if he never came out, there's no way it should be a safety.

i dunno who it was but one of the Jay fans said that if westlake lost then hed post a bulletin to make fun of all the westlake fans and how statistically wrong we were about everything. Jay played a great game but it dont look like there will be any trash talkin now. Looks like the underdogs had a bigger bite this time. GO CHAPS...BEAT LOS FRESNOS. Lets make this 6 state games.

Yeah, they got the safety call right. Do yall still do Region players of the weeks? If yall do I nominate Bron Hager for Westlake. He played an amazing game and literally just punished the Jay defenders every time he carried it. Foles looked solid. Minor did well recieving, not so great rushing. Can't wait for Los Fresnos. Go Chaps!

I dunno about this but bron is kinda lookin like a mini brett robin from 96. hes not as big but hes got that power running that robin had. And Robin was a sophmore that year. Foles looks like a dang man child out there throwin the ball. If westlake can make it to state then itll be the 10 yr reunion from the last time westlake won there first state game and there 6th overall apperance.

I just got home from the game and it was definitely a great game. It was indeed an offensive shootout, but I was terribly impressed with Jay's overall speed on the defensive side. Their DE's were as fast as some of out running backs

The game time for the 3rd round game is Saturday at 2 in Victoria, which is somewhere near Corpus Christi I believe.

Yeah, I don't remember any trash talk either and you know I'd be right in the middle of it LOL

Apparently he doesn't either cause he can't even remember the posters name so it must have not been very good trash talk LOL

On the playoff site thread, my answer is posted--the game is on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Victoria. We were hoping for a Friday night game because of other plans, but I'm going to try to be there anyway!
