Obviously, there is a revenge factor involved with Lufkin and they want to see the Dragons so they can get over the "hump". But from an X's and O's perspective; who is Lufkin pulling for and why?

I think deep down they want to see Trinity win. That is because they haven't been able to get past the Dragons and since Lufkin's strength is the passing game; that appears to be Trinity's only Achille's Heel. Besides, if you were Lufkin would you really want to be staring 0-4 in the face?

I think deep down Lufkin wants to win state. Whoever stands in their way makes no difference to the team. These kids are locked in and focused.

SLC wins against ET, game over by 3rd qt. Then Lufkin, be careful what you wish for because even though you have the best athletic team in the state, by a huge margin, SLC seems to have your number. I have watched both SLC and Lufkin on TV and no doubt about it, Lufkin has superior athletes. But as we all know, the game is about matchups and SLC seems to matchup very well against Lufkin. It will be a close game, but because both teams score very quickly, (neither eat up the clock offensively), SLC will prove too much for Lufkin in the scoring quick contest. SLC by 14.

you obviously don't understand this program or community. I can promise you, right now they are focused on cotrolling what they can control and playing the team opposite them on the field.
LP won't back down from either team. Honestly, i think no team except Lufkin can defeat them this year. It doesn't matter if ET or SLC wins.

Last time I checked, Lufkin AND SLC AND ET had FOUR matches to make it through before that was even a possibility....

Personally, I would think it funny as all get out if NONE made it to that round...unlikely but ALWAYS a possibility....which is why they PLAY the games!!!

At any rate, I would say worry about your opponents AS THEY COME!

I think most everyone would want to play SLC just for the sake of saying they went through them to get to STATE. But how the teams match up together is the issue. Depending on what side you are on, the SCL offense matches up well against LPs defense. They are able to call plays against there defensive schemes to be successful. What you do best, you keep doing. A team doesn't change their philosophy just to beat one or two teams they may play during the season. So what the Pack does on defense to get them to that point, they will keep doing it. I see a close game if they do play against each other, but now matte how much I hate to say it; SLC wins 33-31.

The first 2 games in this very competitive series came down to the very last play and the last game it was 46-28 with Lufkin all state qb on the sideline with an injury. Get your fact's right. You can say they have beat LP 3 times in a row but they sure have not Killed LP. That is what they do to most everybody else. Especially the weak Keller schools. :p
