Several people are asking about poster choice awards and I wanted to gauge interest this year. We had over 60 categories last year and took nominations for categories and nominees. The voting was late in the year and the voting was weak for several categories.

Vote how you feel.

Yes - but you might tweek back the number of categories - say 20 rather than 60.

We can look at that. I wanted to have a bunch of winners last year. I guess I was too soft!:p I can definitely see some categories disappearing. I get the feeling they'll want some new categories, too.

Possible categories

"Van Damme Award" Poster you'd pick to have your back in a street fight

"chicken little Award " first poster to run for cover when the going gets tough

"leslie Visser award " female poster that knows the most about football

"Rhodes Scholar award' has the most educated posts

"mosquito award" is the most annoying poster with very little substance in their posts

" John Madden Award" most knowledgable football poster, yet puts into laymen's terms

"Milli Vanilli Award" Poster most likely not to be who they say they are...

"Kenneth Hall Award" Poster who is so prolific, their postcount can never be touched( gratuitous towards the poll's founder, I know, but i thought it was funny)

"Earl Campbell/ Mike Singletary Award" tough guy, old school and represents what the board is all about

"Tom Landry Award" represents class and excellence in their posts/ contributions to the board

"Sagarin/ Dunkel Index award" poster most likely to bring statistical support to the table

"BCS Award" poster is not that good, but propped up by the old guard

I voted yes. May I also add some possible categories:

The Rolodex Award: Poster who has at their disposal the most arcane yet fascinating HS football facts.

The Stephen Ambrose Award: Best HS football historian

I'm down. I found it very entertaining during the offseason. I'm looking forward to it.

It will have to go to someone form the "265".

I might win the award named after me, but I probably don't deserve it. We have people around here who root for teams like Clear Creek that act like they have the 4 horsemen on their team!:D
