How are people knocking you? Just because you aren't ranked #1 or #2 doesn't mean people knock you. Everyone realizes Lufkin has a good program and will continue to do so as long as Coach Outlaw is HC. You cant expect to be ranked #1 or #2 every year, especially when your main weapon on offense is gone. I'm sure Lufkin will do fine this year, but I just dont see them going to the finals this year. However, anything can happen, it's only Week 1 and we haven't even seen them play yet.

some of the people who have expressed some doubts happen to be the homies. they aren't worried yet mind you, but recognize the need to jump-start the offense pretty dang quick. it's hard to lose if you shut out the opponent, but it's equally hard to win without scoring too. i'm confident this scoring quirk is reparable and expect by district to see some big numbers out of old abe.

first timer....still dont know what 1990 is referring to, but LP is starting out slow right now on the offensive side of the ball. Outlaw will definately fix this problem in the next coming weeks. Hopefully, the defense will keep us in the games until this happens.

Lat time I saw Lufkin play they got taken to OT by a decent North Mesquite team in Mesquite in '02. NM had Aaron Harris and Terrel Brown both at UT now. They have an excellent program. Give Larry Hill that many athletes though and SV would never lose.

Aaron Harris graduated the year before, but we did have Tarrell Brown. Lufkin got it done, and we didn't.

LP 1990 does not speak for the majority of Lufkin fans. I believe that Lufkin gets their fair share of respect around the State as a good football program. I haven't read any disrespect towards them. The one thing you learn when you have been to at least the semi-finals 3 of the past 4 years, is a healthy respect for all the teams you play along the way. Lufkin fans understand how hard the road is to get to that 5th and 6th round of the playoffs. Teams like Katy and Southlake understand also that and that is why we all respect each other.
I don't know why this guy made that statement to begin with.
