Not as high profile as some of the others but easily the most exciting. After trailing by 21 in the 2nd half Grapevine rallied to win 56-49 in overtime. Arlington had over 500 yards of offense and lost! If you didn't get to see it, the highlights are at http://www.insidehighschoolfootball.com
Unbelievable comeback by Stephen Headley!

texas hs football is the best. even 2 teams that'll be playing thump thump in early nov can fight it tooth and nail and provide the best deal for the money there is.

DD,
Your right about that. Pro Sports has gotten out of control. You can't beat the excitement and the purity of High School Football.

Sounded like a great game. For those that stayed up until early Saturday morning - the Lee/Chaminade game had an incredible finish. I just can't imagine watching Fri. night football at 1:30 Sat. morning -- delayed due to weather.

Both of the Tyler teams had great games this weekend.
I myself made it to the Lee/Chamanade game and it was awesome. That Lee crowd sure was a dudd though. The only people standing was the student section and a couple of others. It was a great finish. I'm glad I stuck around for it.
John Tyler stopped the then #2 team in 4A Texas High on the 7 yard line to stage a comeback when they were down 16-7 in the 4th quarter. Texas High dropped to #8 this week. Both were incredible games.

The Arlington-Grapevine game was an offensive talent show. Want proof? The game set an AISD record for highest scoring game ever with the two teams points combined. Three WRs with 100 yards AHS(1), Grapevine(2).
Arlington running back had 27-242-3. Grapevine QB threw for 300+ yards.
And when it comes down to it Arlington lost because of special teams. 2 blocked punts taken back for TDs. I expect both teams to fight for the 3rd playoff spot this year in their respected districts.

this isnt a full game, but the SLC-Lee first half was pretty good, it was close for a while till the end of the 2nd, i know some of you will be like "oh a dragon fan promoting themselves at the best of everything" but im being seriousy the first quater was very nerve racking which leads it to a great game, the 2nd was pretty good till we had that "explosin" of offense if youd like to call it that, you can call it biased if youd like, but it was pretty damn good the first half that is

Well, Katy and the Woodz were tied near the end of 1st half 6-6.
See what I mean?
At Reliant, I had no idea what was happening to SLC.

Grapevine is a team who is going to struggle to have a winning season this year. We run the same offense as them and they had more mistakes then we did in the scrimmage, and they have been running that offense their whole careers! That is why I think many of their coaches came over to our school, because they weren't expecting much out of them this year.
Arlington is a team I don't know much about, but the top teams in district 7-5A are too good in my opinion. However the bottom of that district is weak so they can pull of a 4 win district season.

Last year Arlington strugged to a 1-9 season.
They lost to DeSoto, Duncanville, and Arlington lamar all by LESS than a TD.
Lost to Bowie in OT, and Martin by either a TD or 10.
Point being the best teams in the district didnt beat them by much last year and i expect AHS to win at least 5 district wins this year.

their coach certainly has a great background and i expect some improvement this year, but the display they gave before and during their last playoff game portended some problems. they needed some adult leadership and didn't seem to be getting it right then.

Yeah it was a great game even though we lost.
