We were gone for a sec but we are bringing 6-4 record to the playoffs.So I want to know what yall think about Abilene Highs chances in the 2006 D2 playoffs are

I looked at the bracket. They may be able to go further with a weaker team due to the draw this year. I think they'll be favored to make Round 4 because the level of competition is so weak in Region 1 D2. The Eagles will be at least a 2 TD underdog in Round 4 against either Hebron or Cedar Hill, however.

No way -- Hebron eats them up. Cedar Hill reminds Abilene of the whipping SLC gave them at Baylor, 52-0! Abilene goes home early.

umm, considering AHS snapped two punts over their own punter and both balls rolling inside the 10, a kick return td for westlake, and AHS outgaining westlake 400 something yards to 200 something....the score did not show the real abilene eagles. those special team mistakes have been fixed now. and westlake didnt tie ACM. the game was stopped when Nader collapsed and it never finished. but if i remember correctly, wasnt westlake down 7-0 when the game was called?

no offense, but you probably dont know anything about abilene. you look at our record 6-4 and decide we're decent, but you probably dont know our losses were to austin westlake, lubbock monterey (9-1, and highly overlooked), mesquite (when kelly page wasnt hurt. im not sure if he still is or not), and tyler lee. then the only way you remember us was the game where you whooped us last year. the team started 0-4, but has changed a whole lot since then. remember, its not how you start, but how you finish. the eagles D only gave up 2 TDs i think in the 2nd half during all 5 district games (except Odessa high when the 2nd and 3rd stringers gave up a couple TDs)

stats dont win games, scoring does. our inability to put the ball in the end zone combined with them taking advantage our miscues gave them the win. they came to play that night, we didnt. its that simple.

i do believe that if we played them now, things would be much different. since mike fullen took over as head defensive coordinator, the eagles are 6-0 and the defensive starters have only given up 7 points total in the 2nd half of those 6 games. talk about adjustments:eek: :cool: this is a MUCH improved ahs D, and the offense is clicking pretty well as of late also.

In my bracket I have them playing into the Region 1 final, but coming up short against Cedar Hill. If that's true AHS will be playing into December this year which is better than they done the last two years........

if you think back to 2 years ago, they had a couple of shots into the endzone to beat us in the reg semis(early december).
