Season starts Saturday for most teams.... how do yall see the Big 12 shaping up...

Here is how I see it....

SOUTH
1.Texas
2. OU
3. Tech
4. A&M
5. osu
6. Baylor

NORTH
1.MIZZOU
2.Nebraska
3.Colorado
4.ISU
5.KState
6.Kansas

North
Colorado
Iowa State
Nebraska
Kansas State
Mizzou
Kansas

South
Texas
Tech
OU
A&M
OSU
Baylor
I think Tech has a outside shot of going to a BCS game, but it depends on the rest of the county and who gets the at large bids. I think that Tech's only loss comes to UT in Austin, and if they can put a showing up like they did two years ago, that could be enough to get them a at large bid to a BCS game, if that is their only loss. With A&M and OU both going to Lubbock, I think the Red Raiders win, they will beat A&M by double digits and they have a shot at doing the same to OU. Their defense keeps getting better, and this years version is going to be the best they have had in a while.

A&M is a improved team, but their schedule is brutal, on the road they have Clemson, Colorado, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Tech. I think they lose 3 of those games, they have never played well in Boulder, and we all know how they play in Lubbock and Norman. Also, Texas still has to much talent for A&M to overcome, the Ags are getting better, but so is everyone else in the South.

A&M probably won't win the Big 12....I don't think I said that. But they will be good this year. Texas won't even get close to the Rose Bowl...

We will find out alot about the aggies Saturday night in Death Valley. We won't learn anything about the Horns until they go to Columbus. I personally can't wait until each of them starts their freshman running backs, cuz i don't think Selvin can replace Ced, and I think the aggies need big things from the running game, and Courtney doesn't bring enough either. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sooners do it again, but I would much rather see Bomar at the top of their depth chart...

Thank God football season is here!

btw, I bet LSU gets that stadium repaired in a hurry and shares it with the Saints all season.

farmerfan

Tech has done more with less. They have slowly been building a decent defense out in Lubbock, and this year they return something like7-8 3 year starters, plus they get OU and A&M in Lubbock, when was the last time A&M won in Lubbock?
If you look at what Tech has on both sides of the ball and their schedule then yes I think they have a shot at finishing 2nd in the south and a outside shot at a BCS birth.

They definitely have the offense out in Lubbock! They are one of the most entertaining teams to watch in College football. Loved seeing them kick Cals butt in the Holiday Bowl. They need to be more physical on defense this year to compete for a big 12 south title. I'll have to see it. This will be Frans 3rd year in College Station, with his track record and recruiting classes, I think they have plenty of reason to be optimistic, but some people will really need to step up and make a name for themselves besides Reggie. The horns will be interesting to watch, no one believes Vince can beat them in the air with Ced gone, and I'm certain OSU will load the box to stop Vince, and make him throw. Besides....DJ is a huge loss in the middle of that defense. OU will be playing alot of youngsters around Peterson, but they had some pretty good recruits sitting on the sidelines. I think the big 12 south will be up for grabs.

i think everyone in the state of Texas loved that, esp. those UT fans that needed Cal off their back about the BCS crap.

Cant argue when UT came into Techs house and killed them 51-21, and then Tech went basically in Cals backyard and took care of them 45-31.

No need for that type of language...Just stating the facts and you are right until the games are played its all speculation. It's not that I don't like the Horns just don't like Mack Brown. Until he does actually win the "BIG" one with all the talent that he has had I don't believe he will. And no I'm not an AGGY fan.

Here I go...
North...really doesn't matter, but here it goes...

1) Colorado 8-3 (The only real contender in the North. They've got talented depth...10 starters returning on defense. But they play @Miami, the third week, and then @Texas, and finally A&M storms in. But they'll beat the rest of the slobs.)

2) Nebraska 7-4 (STILL, about three years away from perfecting that West Coast offense. Let's see by that time the Bailey QB will have graduated and probably be delivering mail...certified mail. Listen, Callahan is making an a-- out of himself. Stop with the tricks, let the athleticism take over, run the wishbone -- well get someone who can run a wishbone, first, and bring back the Blackshirt D!)

3) Iowa State 7-4 (Uh, they're alright. I mean I don't think you can get anymore 6'6 and 6'7 athletes on the darn squad. Problem they'll have is the schedule...top ranked Iowa and they play @ Nebraska and @ A&M.

4) Missouri 6-5 (They're funny because they always...ALWAYS lose the goofy games. This year is their best opportunity...just 1 top ranked team...Texas. They may shock them, but I doubt it. Seriously doubt it!!)

5) Kansas 6-5 (I think Kansas and Kansas State got together and made a bet with each other to see who would lose the most games and get beat by the most points. I rank Kansas ahead of Kansas State only because they have one less "Won't win/can't win" games than State, playing @Texas Tech, @Texas, @Colorado and oh, they play a little team that's played in 3 National Championships in the last 5 years...I think you know who!)

6) Kansas State 4-7 (Overall no depth what so ever. And they play @Oklahoma, @Texas Tech, @Nebraska, @Iowa State and finally get a "BREAK" when Texas A&M comes to town. LOL Goodluck kids...your coaches should be ashamed!!)

SOUTH...it's not even funny...

1) Oklahoma Sooners 11-0 (I've personally visited the Sooners, during the spring and during the summer. They're defense looks phenomenal. I'm a huge fan of Rhett Bomar, personally, this kid's 6'4 215, runs a 4.4 40 yard-dash and has a cannon for an arm. Stoops looks to go with veteran-smart QB Paul Thompson, and this team is "still" loaded, anyways. You'll see!)

2) Texas 10-1 (Love to see Vincent take off and run, but that's about it. I think we can all agree he's not a "passer". And something else, last year they had LB Johnson, Benson, Scaiffe and Young...and they still didn't beat Oklahoma. I've had a long history with the Longhorns and can personally say it's true what everyone says...they play soft in the Big 12. Last year, against OU and Michigan, was the first time, in along time, I've seen the Longorns hit someone in the mouth. And poor tackling/broken plays saved the Rose Bowl game from going the other way.)

3) Texas A&M 9-2 (McNeal was, by far, the better QB when he and Young were QB's playing in High School. A&M is loaded, but they just don't have enough fire power to take over the Big 12. They may shock either the Sooners or Longhorns, but definitely not both. But they'll be undefeated throughout the season and everyone will build the hype of the Longhorn and Sooners games. Then "BAM", two loses!! I do miss the SWC days!!! They, easily, ruled then!)

4) Texas Tech 8-3 (Will come out and pass for 8 "Gazillion Yards" like normal and, ultimately, win the big games and lose the "no brainers"...or vice versa, with the exception of the Big 2...Longhorns/Sooners...but they'll shock A&M. Tech's always given A&m trouble...always. But will lose to someone like OSU or Baylor.)

5) Oklahoma State 6-5 (Transitional period. Some good, young players, but not enough to make a dent. But playing in this conference makes them better, unlike Baylor, of whom I think secretly stopped playing football for about 10 years, until A&M slipped up and gave them one last year. What was that about last year, by the way...it was like Prairie View beating Southlake Carroll...uh, ya right!!)

6) Baylor 2-9 (Baylor...uh, well that's it. Poor guys ought to concentrate on the track program. That will be the only way they'll shine!! I'm ready for them to do what they should of done long ago...throw UNT into the Big 12 mix and kick Baylor's wreckage into the sea.)

I resent the fact that my fellow Texans choose...to grab their crotch...hump sheep...meat judge...lose to Baylor...worship dogs...tongue-lash co-eds after the few touchdowns they score...drink beer at the Chee-kin like it's the Roxy...and for some unknown reason keep getting blue chips from my alma mater....but that is just my opinion...I could be wrong.
They grab their balls until they play OU then they tuck their tales and run. :D

Dude what are you talking about noob?
aggy is the one that is known for the grabbing of the
scrote....
Take about 2-4 weeks and go learn some football...the history of the
game...Bear Bryant...Vince Lombardi...the whole 9 yards....then come back and we can have a fair conversation....because as it stands now...you are walking into a gun fight with your mother's steak knife...

I will have to go back to Bear Bryant and Vince Lambardi days to find the last time Texas has won a National Championship. Like I said any chance to bash Mack Brown and UT will be taken advantage of. Since we are discussing history that is exactly when UT has won a championship WAAAAAY back in history!! So long ago I can't remember can you???? You were probaly pissing in a diaper at that time.

Like I said no it does not how about a championship how about at least the South division. Maybe you can start on Sept 10th although I don't think so. Mack chokes as does his team will be the headlines on the 11th!!!

I will be the first to admit that, even though I am a dedicated Aggie, I was cheering my heart our for Texas in the Rose Bowl. I believe it does count! And yes, I am embarassed at what happened to A&M in the Cotton Bowl. But this is a new year and Texas and A&M both have things to prove. So...let the games begin!
