It should be a good game, but I'm gonna have to go with Clemens on this one, no offense, I think TR has a great program, but I think Clemens is just the better team.

Wow, that was a much higher score than i anticipated.....I was thinkin somethin like the winning score to be 20 and the loser or "runner-up" as they call them to be something like 17....

And I think it'll be a one score game (7 pts or less)....so not 9...it may be that high, but a lil closer....

1-0 Clemens over Roosevelt
And I'm not stupid, I know 1 is the only score that is impossible in football, but I don't know how much Clemens will win by. I don't think it will be a high scoring game though.

I have to go with Clemens in this one. Roosevelt beat a pretty weak team in East Central, and Clemens beat a slightly better team in Waco.

I go to TR but im not sure. Our boys got off to a slow start against East Central and I know they are no clemens, but i think as long as we get going right away it will be a good game. Maybe a third year in a row 17-14 victory for TR with a blocked clemens field goal to attempt to tie it ;)

I'm gonna support the 'Riders just cause they're NEISD as wel as 26-5A but who I personally think is gonna win, is gonna have to be CLemens. It should be a close game however.

:D How are horrid offenses going to score that much on big D's? I'll be surprised if they "total" 35. :D

Uhhh...did somebody mistakenly tell you we no longer have the end zone bleachers??? The only time the visiting band, drill team, etc don't sit there is when the visiting crowd isn't expected to fill the visitor stands. It would be disappointing to think TR fans wouldn't make the 10 minute trip up the road and fill the stands.
Last week the end zone seats wound up being used by Clemens fans because of overflow and because alot of Waco fans didn't make the long trip. If the TR band ends up in the visitor bleachers that'd be a sorry statement for TR fans.

Roosevelt actually has one of the smaller crowds.....Express News did a ranking of it when the previews came out....I remember Judson's avg was like 4,000 + with Reagan at about 3500.....others were under 3000. But back to what I was trying to say - Roosevelt does have one of the smaller crowds.

anyways i hope roosevelt wins but i like henrey and want him to do well...ill be very disapointed if he doent put up good numbers this season
any truth to henry being hurt ive heard his ankle and elbos are giving him probs...i saw the highlight where he hit the curb that had to hurt.

so what if they got hit? no biggie. its a football game and you are sitting behind an endzone, what do you expect? deal with it

Its idiotic to place the spirit groups and band in the endzone. The whole point of them is to get/keep the crowd into the game. Its alil hard to do that when you have to watchout for footballs flying into the stands. Think of a football game without the band and cheerleaders. It would be like a pro game which to me suck. Once your team gets behind the crowd gets quiet and the game gets boring. Who honestly wants to go to a high school football game without the spirit groups or band? Thats just how i feel and i also feel that the designer of clemens field is an idiot.

That's interesting. So your band director negotiated for the band to sit in the regular bleachers, even if it means pushing some of your fans into the end zone? There's gonna be some ticked off adults, but props to your band director I suppose. :D

We don't have the luxury of 6 high schools' worth of tax dollars paying for one stadium the way NEISD does. Imagine what kind of stadium Roosevelt would have if only the taxpayers in Roosevelt zone were paying for it. When we moved to 5A we had to equal the visitor seating immediately and that was the fastest, least expensive way to do it, with the limited tax funds of one high school we had.
I realize you're still in school and not used to making decisions based on various factors like that, but ask your parents. I'm sure they'll agree you do the best you can and six schools paying for one sweet stadium is a much easier "design" to accomplish than one school forced to modify a decent stadium with limited funds.

That is true, although some aspects of Comalander could be improved....but you can't really change a stadium that's been around for like 50 years...

If whoever did this ranking said Judson averages 4000, they need to at least slow down on the crack their smoking. Judson will easily average double that! I get a real kick out of the attendance estimates of these games. When we played Katy two years ago in the Alamo Dome the lower level on both sides was completely filled from endzone to endzone and the upper level on both sides probably had at least 1000 people in it and the next day in the paper it said estimated attendance 6000! Good lord, the stadium seats like 60,000 for football and it was way over 1/4 filled. Do if my Clemens math is correct that would be at least 15,000. But I guess if they revealed the true number of fans the Alamo Dome or whoever gets the proceeds from the ticket sales at the door might have to hand over a little more $$$ to the schools involved!

No, your an idiot! 90% of the fans in the stands don't give a rat's smelly a-- about the band during the game or at halftime! And the spirit group (cheerleaders), the only people who are paying any attention to them at all are their parents (only the mothers because the fathers are watching the battle on the field) and the girls in the stands that did not make the cheerleading squad. Oh, I forgot my 8 year old daughter steals a peek every once in a while to see what the cheerleaders are doing! To be honest with you, I respect the kids in the band as much as the players on the field but if you think that the people wouldn't come to the game or get bored if the band and cheerleaders weren't there you are living in your own little world! You and your other band members work very hard on your marching routines and practicing your music and I really do respect that but bottom line is that we come to see the game! If you think I'm mistaken, take a look at an average football game and then look at the number of people in the stands at the battle of the bands and other band competitions where there are way morrrrrrrre than two teams competing. Don't rag on our stadium or anything else about our school district and I won't rag on you or anything you do. We still put education ahead of football in this school district and when we stop doing that, I'll get my kids out of here and in another district!

AMEN! Six teams in one beautiful stadium, sounds wonderful. Texas HS football is about friday nights, not Thursday or Saturday night! Pick the book and see how many home games Clemens has played on Thursday or Saturday night the past 25 years. That's right, 0! I know that is about to change next year with Steele opening up. But, we enjoyed it while it lasted!

Yeah, I agree with that....sometimes band members need to deflate their heads a lil bit....I got friends in band who (for some reason) believe it's all about them yet at halftime everyone's in the concourse getting food. Now, being a student and everything I don't mind the cheerleaders too much :p

I appreciate this. I did in fact say that it was my opnion and this is a forum. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I never said that everybody in the stadium comes for the bands and only for the bands. I never said that. My whole point and opinion is that it is a high school game and most people appreciate the band. If the band wasn't there im sure that some people wouldn't care while others would care. Thats just how it is. Also on the comment on pushing fans into the endzone. I beleive thats how it should be. Thats how it is at our field. If the stands fill up people sit in the endzone. Im not trying to say the fans are not important and i dont care about them. By all means the fans are as important to the game as everybody else there. Sorry if you take offense to this, but its just my opinion.

You are exactly right! Last year was a good game but once again Clemens killed themselves with turnovers as in the previous years. Two out of the last three years we have totally dominated the game in every stat (twice as many yards) but lost where it counts, on the scoreboard. Once again as in years past the kicking game will play a big part but the almighty turnover will decide who gets the W.
