I don't know though they did have over 400 yards total offense. and then there is the fact that Spring Woods fumbled the ball six times. I kind of had a feeling they would be a tad better than last year. You have to remeber last year they were basically a JV squad playing on the varsity level.

I too, could not believe my eyes at their score. This is the team Shore beat last year by 80 points. Hard for me to believe they have progressed that much even though they have seniors on the team this year. I figure SW's just didn't have it. My hats off to PM though for a good win. Maybe they will surprise us. Don't forget in Shore's first 2 years they were killed likewise by Spring Branch and Chris Gilbert and Lamarque and Norman Bulaich while they were only sophs and jrs. Shore was the whipping boy of 10-4A at the time.

When was North Shore ever a 4A team, are we talking way back when the school first opened? i know I sure don't remeber them ever being 4A. I'm remeber them being the whipping boys of the old 21-5A that had the Aldine and Humble schools along with i think it was Spring and Smiley.

And I thought you were a NS connoisseur. It was back in the mid 60's when there was no 5A. Although in the 65 season they produced running back Phillip Kaplon, the first Mustang ever to make 1st team all district. A trivia by the way, that team beat Spring Branch Memorial that year who ranked no. 1 in the state at the time.

Well I'm obviously not quite as old as you are or just don't that much about the early days of the program.

I was on one of the 21-5a ns teams and although we didn't have that great of a record even then we were nobodys pushover. We just were not coached as well as most and not only that but the team had most of the time had inner issues. There were players that did not like other players and wouldn't play as hard.

You got it Big Daddy. I missed a lot of the years in the 70's and 80's until Aymond and Warken came aboard. Until then Shore was just like any of the district teams they now play.
