With week 10 starting today. I noticed that there are a lot of playoff spots that will be earned or lost this week. It is also interestion to note that several teams might get into the playoffs with only 2 district wins. The breakdowns for region 1 are:
Region 1
District 1
top 2 set, 3 and 4 are between 3 teams 1 of which could be 5-5
District 2
All up in air
District 3
top 1 set, both 3 and 4 could have losing records
District 4
top 2 set, 3 will be 5-5, 4 will have losing record
District 5
all 4 set, top 10-0, rest with at least 6-4 records
District 6
top 1 set, all others in air with 4 having a 6-4 or 5-5 record
District 7
All set, with 4 having a 6-4 or 5-5 record
District 8
top 2 set, 3 and 4 up for grabs with 3 having no better than 6-4 and 4 having a losing record

I'm going to laugh if Richland beats you. I'm not going to predict it and I don't blame you for saying it, but it will be funny.
As far as the teams go, here is my thoughts.
1- The district is balanced and they beat up on each other a little. Nobody is very good and that leads to average records.
2- This one is a little better than 1. They have 1 good team and quite a few that are lucky they get to play El Paso first.
3- This district always has upsets and at least these guys try to play decent teams most of the time. It's going to lead to some average records.
4- I don't think much of 4. They're lucky to be in the top half of the Region.
5- When will this district produce a decent team? I'm still waiting!:p OK, you have 1 great team, a few above average teams, and plenty of average teams. They'll be OK for the playoffs.
6- I see a few playoff whipping boys in here. Not very strong but there are a few decent teams.
7- Trinity is strong. The district is down a little from last year. They're still better than 8.
8- Cedar Hill is good. Desoto is schizo. The rest are below average for the most part.
It's not having 4 playoff teams that make things worse this year. It's just that the districts aren't as good up top as some previous years. Region 2 is the best Region in 5A, but they have dead spots, too. Region 3 is full of holes and Region 4 has their normal 5 bad districts.

I know we talk about regions a lot around here and I'd like to speak about that. You can't control where you play or who you play. There are very good teams and mediocre playoff teams in each region. If you play long enough, you might run into one of those teams. More times than not the teams that get to the Semifinals play at least 1 chump. I know SLC didn't play a chump last year, but that doesn't mean they're not out there.
Districts 1-4. I bet these guys lose at least 3 of the 4 matchups when they have to play 5-8. L Monty and maybe Abilene are the only teams who might be good enough to win in Week 13.
5-8. These guys aren't dominant across the board, but they have the best teams and these districts are on average better than 1-4.
9-12. Here is 2 very good districts with an awful one and an average district that did well in the playoffs last year.
13-16. Two very good districts and 2 average districts with 1 great team.
17-20. 1 very good district with a 1-team district and 2 awful ones playing each other in Week 11.
21-24. One great team and no district that's very good.
25-28. One great district, 2 average ones, and 1 bad one.
29-32. 4 bad districts that will provide 4 whipping boys in Week 13.
