CM had the ball first but was not able to get any points on the board. Lee gets the ball and is driving the ball down the field. Lee has first and goal at the 3yrd line......TD Lee!!!

First of all get out of IE AKA Internet Explorer and you will not even have to purchase ad and spyware equipment or Virus software. I use Mozzila Firefox and i never have a problem at all. Hackers target IE because it is so popular. Since i have switched it has been like night to day. No more problems!! Before all i had was problems. No different then judging two teams by what they read in the paper, magazines, forums and other football websites. No one in here has seen all the Texas teams play every season to make any kind of comment good or bad about a team. I have seen alot of people make comments about how good a team is or will be and most of the time they have not even seen them play and if they have it was last year or the year before.....So my assessment is no different then most that I have seen on this board.

cant wait for the new district it would be fun

longview,lufkin,lee,jt,texashigh,mavs and nac

think about that,, lv been to a state game,lee-won,texas high-won,lufkin-won, jt won- mavs been to one nac well except for them.

all those things have been done sense 1990 those are some dang good teams the only weak team in Nac and with coach harper they are going to rebuild sooner or later. and mavs sure longview beat them but they lost a hert breaker in the state game in 4a.

REL beat the powerhouse Florida team but it was a dogfight track meet.

I do one thing. The new REL RB-Jason williams is a superstud. He had almost 300 yds rushing. His a "BEAST."

The new LT-Fitzpatrick (6-3/285) is a blue-chip. Apparently he just man handled Chaminade players all night. He'll be highly sought after no doubt.

But, all I can say is WOW. Living here in Ft. Lauderdale and being a Texan. I'm the new biggest fan for Hollywood Chaminade. I'm going to every game that I can. There is 100% no doubt that Chaminade and St.Thomas Aquinnas are the two best teams here in Dade & Broward county. :)

That gets funny when you say that as if you have one of the toughest schedules in the world. Anyone out of Lufkin, Longview and Lee could beat each other on any given day and I just happen to think it wont be a cakewalk for you guys to win your district. Is there anything wrong with that? Lufkin might not win our district either. Big deal. That is life. I will have to deal with it just like you would have to if your team does not win district. That still does not change the fact that your team is still going to be good. You don't always win everything. You have to lose sometimes.

It would not get to me that much because I have never said that we will not be beat or that we will win district or anything like that. I know that on any day we could get beat and in any season we could have a losing one. Sometimes that is just the way it is even if you have the best talent on the field and a great coach. I mean who would have thought we were going to lose to Garland in the first round of the playoffs two seasons ago. I have just seen it too many times where people were expected to be great and then all of the sudden they end up not living up to all their expectations. That is just a fact of life. Even the best of us fall down but what is more important is that you don't stay down. You get back up!!!

congrats to lee--it was worth the rain-soaked trip, i guess?? yea, jason Williams is good no doubt..but, Chaminade has NO defense what so ever.....Williams ran free all night long....alot of arm tackling by madonna, missed tackles--etc.......sorry guys..Williams won't be running that damn easy against us--we do have a defense that will shut the run down....Lee's passing game is non-existent, but they had so much success running, that they stuck to it...when they tried to pass is when the trouble started...on the flip side, Madonna had very good success in running the ball and passing the ball....wasn't too thrilled about Lee's defense...i don't know the numbers, but those 2 backs for Madonna had to have had at least 100-150 yards rushing a piece........to sum it up(from what i witnessed tonight)..Lee's running game looks good, passing game looks terrible, and the defense has alot of weaknesses---but, this is the first game of the year, so i'm sure the kinks will be worked out..........as for us, i wasn't impressed at all!! we looked flat or something--i don't know what it was?? Marshall isn't a slouch by no means--they looked good, i was impressed with those guys.....we had 3 fumbles and too many damn dropped passes---one of which was a wide open touchdown........not to mention, the refs gave Marshall 10 points....in my book(which doesn't count), the final was 28-6....for a minute last night, i thought that i was back at Evangel stadium as bad as the calls were...and so obvious, at that.......

What?? he is dogging Lufkin's schedule when Longview plays teams like Mesquite Horn, a pretty weak North Mesquite team, John Tyler, and Rockwall?? I think Rockwall?? Let's not pretend you guys are playing studs every week either??

Y'all will argue about anything. LOL Longview's schedule consists of 4 teams that played for a state championship last year. Two of those teams won state championships. How many teams does LP play that played for a state championship? Sure, our district isn't the strongest but it consists of two state ranked teams, and the other teams are much improved this year. And y'all play nacogdoches....that is a joke.

Mesquite Horn has one of the best runningbacks in the state/nation. North Mesquite has a decent passing attack. Not much to say about JT and Rockwall, but it looks like things will be looking up for JT soon. Besides, it isn't our fault our district is weak... Who did you guys schedule for pre-district play?

We have Marshall, West Monroe, Lake Highlands (they are okay... nothing special), and Evangel. What about you guys? I know you have Nac because it's an old old rivalry, and I can understand that one, but who else?

Bleedgreen.....

The two RB's from Chaminade Madonna combined for somewhere in
the neighborhood of 250 yards on 30+ carries.

Willie Floyd (#9) went for 190 yds on 21 carries and Xavier Stinson (#5)
had 60 on 11 totes. Believe me when I tell you that BOTH will be D-1
signees next February.

I'll agree with you AND JTate that Lee's D is NOT what is was last season.

However, that Chaminade team can play with anyone within East Texas.

Period.

Lee will only get better...both on Offense and Defense.

The Lee passing game was neutralized somewhat last night by
a very good coverage team from Florida.

Three of the four Chaminade DB's are ALSO D-1 recruits.

Lee QB Hill went 4-9 for 75 yards...BUT was money when he had to be
completing his last 3 passes he threw on the night when it mattered
most. One to TE Fleet on the game tying drive then 2-2 on the game
winning drive.

I suppose it's all in what a football fan pays attention to within the
game.

Besides...Lee has a VAST array of passing plays that they just did not
show last night....add to that the fact that Jason Williams is a definite
D-1 recruit...and Lee really did not need to throw very often...imo.

Anyway...I was also at Longview's win against Marshall. The Lobos were
good when they had to be...on both sides of the ball. I especially liked
how they mixed it up on the ground and the air...definite improvement.

They clicked early on and also on the initial drive of the second half BUT
the Lobo secondary is suspect...imo.

That Longview-Lee matchup will be quite a ballgame...to be sure.

HCM has a very tough team. I would say that 3 of their O-lineman are D-1A, 2 Rb's are D-1A, 2 Wr's are D-1A. Their O-line was like (6-3/280) average. Plus, the QB (coaches son) ran that offense to perfection (like a coaches son). Their going to cake walk to the Florida 2A title.

Plus, their (HCM) defense has about 5 or so D-1A kids on it. They had some good size and great speed.

Tyler Lee Defense: I think when they get FS- Cuba back his going to make their defense alot better. They will be able to move a few kids around and fit their ability better. His going to be a major addition to REL defense. I'm pretty sure he'll be back for the Colerain, Ohio game.

Tyler Lee Offense: Wow, their going to be very very good. Especially if they can cut out a couple of little mistakes. Jason Williams is going to have his choice of schools to go to.

I wasn't unimpressed with Lee - as so many of you seemed to be. I was extremely impressed with HCM and how much of a total package they really were. Lee's offense took care of business and two of HCM's touchdowns came on short fields - one after an interception and the other after an automatic 1st down after a roughing the kicker! Lee's defense held them three and out in the fourth quarter when they had to and then Preston Hill completed a 23 yard pass to Jonathon Williams right over the middle to the one yard line to set up the winning touchdown. This is going to be a team that knows how to take care of what they have to to win. I was impressed that they never seemed to get rattled - a machine that just kept running. I made statement that Jayson Williams was going to be as good as Tyrone was last year and got laughed at by the vast majority of you. I think he showed his potency last night and will continue to do so over the course of the season.
Kudos to HCM -- a class program with some great athletes. My hat's off to them for the fight they put up after all they went through to play this game. The delay was hard on both teams. You know how adrenaline is -- highs and lows.
Great high school football game!

Ya... many times football is about team chemistry. Sometimes you put in that extra element and it changes everything (for the better & worse sometimes).

I think Cuba is going to really make REL defense extra special when he gets on the field. Just him walking out on the field will lift everyones playing ability up a notch on defense. Ya know.

Yeah....I know very well about the influence that Cuba "should"
have on the Lee defense.

I'm not sure just WHEN he'll return but my source should know
in the next day or two.

IF he sees the field at Waco this week THEN that will be a nice
benefit....maybe NOT to the extent that it will be more than a
handful of plays...BUT his presence WILL be felt.

I think though that the coaching staff will side on the area
of caution and NOT rush him back too soon.

We shall see.

Just so you know the defense on the Tyler Lee squad is not "Horrible" timid, and unexperienced yes. Only 4 players have little of any experience. Cuba's lost was indeed crucial but he's supposedly coming back next week. Those who watched details, the defense did step up when time was crucial, and have the talent to be a tremendous force once the ball gets rolling. Those who crack down now, will have a foot in the mouth come more games. Also, you must take in mind the players were couped up in the lockeroom from 4-8 practically, without food mind you. haha I am willing to bet a dramatic improovement come next week.

Oh and as for your sources, what better one than a player himself! haha

I'm with you 100%. I think REL defense played very well and did a great job. The "bend but dont break" was in full affect. That's all that matters.

I also know that Hollywood Chaminade is pretty good and they have a huge O-line and some great skill kids. So , for Tyler Lee to play them heads up like that is great.

I do think REL defense is pretty solid and its going to get better with game experience. Bring in a blue-chip like Cuba and its just going to uplift the defense even more.

I played LB in High school with an All-state FS on our team. It made life alot easier because I knew in the back of my head that I had a stud back there for support. It helped me play a little faster and a little more wreckless because not much was going to get past him. By the way he went to LSU and started there for 3 years ( he was that good).

I think Cuba is that good also. His going to make REL defense move faster and be alot more aggresive by just having him on the field.

"I'm excited."

Usually Lufkin has one of the toughest non-district schedules you can find. Example, in 2002 Lufkin played top ten teams Ike and Katy along with our horrible rival Nac. In 2003 they played Ike and Katy again and of course Nac. Lufkin played 7 or 8 top10 teams in 2003. In 2004 Lufkin played Tyler Lee and Ike last year along with Nac!! This year Lufkin basically had no choice on their non-district schedule. Ike is not what they used to be but they are still not a a slouch. They are a playoff team every year!! PA Memorial who Lufkin had to play because Tyler Lee canceled in order to play Colerain, I would put them over teams this year like Horn, Jt, Rockwall easily. They were a playoff team last year. And then you have poor Nacogdoches who is a necessary rival that you have to schedule. They did somehow manage to beat a Huntsville team by at least 4 tds this week. The old Marshall coach is over there and he might make them decent but that is hard to believe. For Nac to beat anybody that bad is pretty amazing though. ;) Longview plays a tough Evangel team that is not near as tough as they were in there big time days, West Monroe i know nothing about but i hear they are tough. Don't yall usually beat them yearly?? Yall also play a top 4a team but they are not big time when you are talking 5a. Lufkin last played Marshall in 2003 and beat them 39-3. I would give Longview the edge in the non-district schedule but I think the District schedule's are pretty even in terms of toughness with Longview having a slight edge. The Woodlands, Klein Collins, and Klein Forest are not slouch teams.

This is our first year to play WM in many years, so no we don't beat them yearly. We have only played them twice. They are one of the most storied programs in LA. They are favored to win the LA 5a title this year. Marshall would beat most 5a teams and are not near the team they were in 2003 when LP won 39-3. LP is lucky they don't face them in their opener...they would prolly beat y'all considering the state of your offense. They will prolly win a 4a state championship this year. PA memorial, while usually a playoff team, is a weak team from a weak district(sorry Scooter). So while Longview holds a slight edge in district toughness our overall schedule is by far tougher than LPs. 4 teams coming off state championship apperances...can't argue with that. I bet no other team in the state can claim that.

Yeah for Longview!!! Now you have two meaningless wins over Lufkin in 2005. You won the 2005 Scrimmage Bowl and now you win the 2005 Battle of the Schedules. That is impressive. You will take what ever win you can get. You have to pull anything out of your butt to justify your opinion that Longview is better then Lufkin. Sad, very sad.:( I guess I wouldn't blame you after all you have been through with the Pack in the past six years. Hey this is a new season so lets just see how the season plays out. Marshall, Evangel, and Tyler Lee is all i can think of?? Who am i missing?? Maybe Monroe?? I do not know?? I cannot keep up with the Lousiana teams also. Evangel usually owns the state of Lousiana recenltly though. It is not their fault they are forced into 1a now. I think that will hurt their program very badly. No more players will want to move there to play if it is 1a.

I'm still looking for exactly who are the 4 teams coming off state championship appearances in Longview's schedule

West Monroe, Evangel, Lee, Marshall(4a)

Yeah for Longview!!! Now you have two meaningless wins over Lufkin in 2005. You won the 2005 Scrimmage Bowl and now you win the 2005 Battle of the Schedules. That is impressive. You will take what ever win you can get. You have to pull anything out of your butt to justify your opinion that Longview is better then Lufkin. Sad, very sad.:( I guess I wouldn't blame you after all you have been through with the Pack in the past six years. Hey this is a new season so lets just see how the season plays out. Who knows, we both might not do as good as we thought we would. If that happens we will have a whole bunch of people dogging us at the end of the season.

Man you guys sure are sensitive about the meaningless scrimmages...noone even mentioned them or said Longview was better than LP. I was simply saying we have a tougher schedule. The streak is old news.... a whole new season is here.

No disrespect to Waco, but geeze is there O-line tiny!! They better be mighty quick and mighty strong if they want their running back to cover some ground. Was told the biggest lineman is 5'11 210. I am bigger than that! haha

Hey Mike, straps the pads on and play tough and hard and keep everyone healthy.

Did Cuba start running today ? Just wondering because I havent talked to anyone back home.

Yeah he ran today, without a limp from what i saw! Unfortunately I didnt have much time 2 talk because we were busy doing 100 yard sprints. Wow those are fun! haha Specially with this heat! I am seeing a lot of improovement in practice today, players are lighting fuses now! I can't wait to strap up against some real compitition. (Not meaning that the teams we've played weren't I ment instead of practice) haha Just to clarify. Cuba's really syked 2 come and his arrival is very welcomed. Our run-stoppin ability will greatly increase...Like that guy said earlier, having a head-hunter behind us makes space for more aggression! (which we need)

Hey Mike,, go ahead and stop it right there brother. You might make a nice bulletboard target and then a target on the field. Listen to the coaches and go wimp some butts.

I hear ya.. go do some push-ups, bang your head on the wall a few times and get some sleep. We need the LB's to be ready.

Bring the "A" game against Waco and then bring it against that Ohio team. Against the Ohio team is called stop the run, stop the run and stop the run because that's all they do.

PS. Skip the part about banging your head on the wall and do somemore pushups.

Alright brother.. I'll come home this season and I'll come slap on the back.

I'm getting the Chaminade game this week on DVD so I better see some hitting in it !!

I'll be watching on tv in two weeks. I better see a certain someone knocking heads and blowing people up (Texas style)!!

I should be home for the Longview game. Until then I'm going to have to settle for some DVD's.

Take care and dont turn the ""keys off"" until December 25th !!!

I know your #. Hey, sometimes its about plugging your area and containing your spot so others can support. (Teamwork).

I'm really looking forward to seeing the DVD and seeing somemore out of the REL this season. Keep working hard and plugging away and great things will happen. I have 100% confidence in everyone of ya'll and know what ya'll can do.

Remember , when you walk out on the field "nobody can beat ya !!" "NOBODY!"
