I know I know you all say Mesquite does not have a chance this week against Longview but I picked Mesquite. I think they could be the team to stop Longview with their QB that is not known and has been playing great.

Don't kid yourself, Mesquite has a chance in this game. And after seeing both, I would say they have a good chance. I will say this about Longview - they just keep on winning district games. It's amazing in a way how far they have gone with what they have. Mesquite, however, is a threat to stop them. Two pretty good teams in this one, IMO.

PESH, any chance those 9 turnovers are the result of playing a physical football team? It would be nice to see a Mesquite school win and have a shot at the district title that seemingly goes to east Texas every year. Should be a better game than last year but maybe the advantage is still with Longview. Until you beat someone it is hard to get over that hill and Longview has seemed to have the Mesquite schools number since they became one district. Big question is which Mesquite school will give themselves a shot at the playoffs in the Horn/ North Mesquite battle. Winner could sneak in if JT loses their last two and the winner of this game wins in week 10 also. I think it would also take a Lee victory over JT to set this scenario up but I could be wrong. Not sure on the district tie-breaker but I am sure it has something to do with points. If I am correct (and that is not always the case) Longview, Mesquite, and Lee have clinched. JT should be in with their next win. Dallas vs. east Texas first round games should be interesting. JT rematch vs. Carter anyone?

Longview has had everybody's number in this district. They have never lost a district game in this new district in almost 3 years. I do think Mesquite has a shot. They seem much improved. I still will take Longview.

well ill say this....Longview is very beatable.......there were plenty of times when lee played them that lee could have won......Lee beat themselves...lee's coaching beat themselves...i can remember SEVERAL times in that game thinking if lee can get a score here or get this first downthey could really take control of this game..but then they would havea bonehead penalty or a HORRIBLE coaching call and screw it all up...anywayz good luck to lee vs jt this week..hopefully lee's offensive woes can stop.......good luck longview as much as i'd like to see yall lose a district game and not be district champs it goes back to east texas vs dallas..so GO LONGVIEW!

Keys to this game for Longview are stopping Buerck and the defense always being aware of which QB is in the game. Halpin isnt very fast so they will more than likely throw with him...the other kid looks very fast and he will be more difficult to guess he could throw or run.......

This will be a big test for the Lobo defense all our games have hinged on how well they play....

For Mesquite it will be turnovers...this Longview defense is very good at getting Turnovers....if Mesquite has no TO's they will probably win this game....

Don't see where you come up with that as the Lobo defense wouldn't let the Lee offense do a dang thing.

Interception after Interception was the story of Longview's win over Tyler Lee. Plain and simple.

The Lobo Offense moved the ball but obviously not near enough to put away the game like we should've in the third quarter. And that's a credit to the Lee defense. When Longview got close, the Lee D held strong and held em to a field goal attempt where in that game our kicker was just terrible.

About the Lobo/Skeeter match up...well obviously it's going to be a tough game. Both teams stand at 6-2. And while Mesquite lost Page they seem to have found a good replacement and have found something they can use and are rolling with it.

Should be an awesome game. Can't wait.

Can't wait.all of those picks shouldnt have happend. if our recievers would have made a play for the ball then it would have been different. they just watched yall pick the passes off instead of going to the ball. and lee's defense played real well they stopped longview when they needed to. they only gave up a lil over 200 yrs offense. some big plays came off 2 runs by the tailback a coulple of 40 plus yard runs or so. other that that we played good on defense. if our offense plays we win. we had all those turnovers and still came back and tied the game 10-10. that tells you how good this team can be. i still think they are the most talented team in the district. the play callin needs to improve. the players need to play smarter. all those mistakes add up.

Washington is also our punter. He got a concussion against JT, but He is back and doing great. As far as I know, we have no injuries other than the obvious.

I think this game is decided by how well LV gets to the QB...we put pressure on him, we make them "push" their offense...that will play right into our hands...

longview's offense needs to be efficient and consistent...take advantage of what we are given...

if Mesquite doesn't hold onto the ball, they lose...

I think the Lobos put this game away early in the fourth...

can anyone tell me why #2 doesn't touch the ball more? That guy is big and fast and the only time he got the ball was on kickoffs. You either run with the QB or pass. Way to predictable using those 2 QBs. You ran everytime with #3 and passed the majority of the time with Halpin. I even saw our coaches telling the defense which way you were going to run a few times with #3. Anyways just congratulating you on a hard fought game. It turned out just like we thought, a close game that came down the last play.

They were having alot more success with that. But like I said, who knows. Hopefully, Mesquite works out some of their problems before the po's or we will be one and out again.

We were all wondering the same thing last night. We killed the Skeeter D on the reverse and running outside, but we just kept pushing it up the gut for 2 yards at the most. I don't know if it was the play-call, or the RB just not seeing the oppurtunities he had. We could've put the game away early running to the outside. But, coulda, woulda, shoulda. The game is over, we pulled it off and got the W and the District Title. That's what we wanted to do, now it's on to Horn and then the playoffs. This game is over. It was a classic, my hat goes off to the Skeeters and I wish them luck in the PO's.

because that is our bread and butter play. It doesnt matter if we are playing the Dallas Cowboys we would still run that play 20 times a game. It really is an effective play and usually gets 2-5 yds(it got us about 40 yds on that first drive)....you just can't tell b/c of the pile every time. I just hate when we run it on 3rd and 10. This year it isnt as effective b/c of the size of our FB.

i was impresed with the speed of the skeeter defense. I didnt see us having much success running outside. Most of our yards running came on the inside...they shut that pitch play down all night. I still cant beleive we tried that on a crucial 4th and 10........
