Any thoughts on who wins and what the final score will be?

Could go either way -- but I really think TWH defense can shut down CP pass & concentrate on stopping run. Question is can TWH offense score enough ???

for this year -- TWH has more depth than CP

I say TWH 17 --- CP 7

As much as I would like to see this game be close, I just don't think it will happen.

Woodlands def is the best part of their team. I think CP can score on them but not as much as it will take to win. Woodz offense can move the ball IF their Oline can contain the rush. If CP D brings the house on most downs and puts presure on the QB, then this is where CP has the chance. CP's best chance for a win is to play lights out on D and ST. I think it is a tall order for this year. Next year though will be a different story from all indications. Congrats to CP on their win over Conroe, but, you let Conroe back in the game and couldn't come up with the knock out punch to put them down in regulation. The Woodz will not have to come from behind and will be a little more consistant. Keep it close to the end and then turn up the fire. Do that and CP just might pull off an upset. Probably will turn out to be one heck of a rivalry from the start. Most of these kids know each other and played in MS together. Just adds to the atmosphere of the game.
Just curious, but whose AD is over the MS teams. I don't think CP has their own MS system yet do they? Just wondering how this worked and is there any emotions tied to the MS kids on who is going to which HS?

The middle schools ( Jr High in CISD ) are tied to the high school --Knox Jr Hi feeds CP .... McCullough Jr Hi feeds TWH. Prior to the split there were 2 Jr Hi feeding TWH -- so the split caused more changes than most people realize ( even elementry schools changed feeder zones )

Offiicially the Jr Hi head coach / campus cordinator is in charge --but in reality the High School head coah / AD is in charge. That is one of the reasons TWH was so scuccessful. The kids used the TWH playbook as 7th graders ( as much as possible that they could handle --then more of playbook added as 8th graders and so on ) -- the TWH coaching staff would attend as many Jr Hi practices & games as possible> The Jr Hi coaches are the scouts for the varsity & also on sidelines for varsity games ( more as learning experience for the young coaches ) that is why a lot of people complained about the number of coaches TWH had -- many of them were Jr Hi coaches just observing. It looked like several Knox coaches on CP sideline last night. Bottom line -- it is probably like Lufkin, by time a kid gets to high school ( TWH & I assume CP ) --there are few surprises

Is TWHS doing a T-shirt for this game? The CP ones were for sale at last night's game.

The Knox coaches were at the game. They all had the Knox green on so looks like it was in an official capacity

Yep, I bought one! My former highlander son bought one to wear to his brothers JV game but will not be wearing it Friday night! I'm sure The Woodlands will have one as well!

Yep. I would have said (reluctantly) TWHS by 10-14 pts. The match up between our WR, Trey Diller and Taylor Charbonnet should be fun to watch. There's a good chance they'll be matched up. Two excellent athletes.

i was at the conroe vs. CP game friday, and CP's defense looks weak. i think that will play a good part in the woodlands wionning this game since our O isnt the best around. the woodlands Defense sould be able to shut this offense down.

woods by 15-20

BTW what does the CP shirts say?

Good thing you brought it up. Maybe you can explain it to me.

It says...

Battle of the Blue

CP Helmet (slightly bigger image) TWHS Helmet

Invasion of the Nation

Couldn't figure out the Battle of the Blue bit.

The Highlanders should take it - they're playing pretty decent ball - as is CP.

21-10 is my guess.

Come on now we all know who will dominate that battle. Diller is a good athlete, but nowhere near the caliber that Charbonnet, or Skaufal are.

You're probably right. I still wanna see how the kid handles it though. He's a competitor. No question. I'm sure he's looking forward to the challenge.

Has he calmed down any? When he was younger you could completely take him out of a game by getting into his head. Terrific athlete though.

The Conroe DB's certainly tried their best to do it. He still burned them for 2 TD's though. So I'm guessing he has calmed down. He's playing under the right coach to ensure that, I think. How do you think he'll do against the Woodlands DB's?

(Woodlands) will definitely be up for this game.(both teams)... but i don't see CP scoring any more than one touchdown. Diller is a good athlete but he will not be able to hang with Charbs. The question is can Sturrock and Ward hang with woodland's 4.4 receivers. If parsons has time the passing game will be open. Woodland's Offense will put up enough points to win this game no doubt.

congrats on the big win against conroe. I love what y'all have accomplished this year. Split the woodlands in two, and conroe still can not hang.

woodlands 31

College Park 7

TWHS should play to the run first. If we do this CP could catch us with our "hand in the cookie jar" so to speak, so I think the opportunity will be there. However, THWS's secondary is better than Conroe's and should be able to handle him.

TWHS secondary is one of the best I've ever seen. It's too bad the Woodlands offense has been disappointing so far. Having said that though, and knowing my luck, they'll probably pick Friday's game to finally explode.

Not quite sure where Conroe05 has been. I guess if I lost to both halves of The Woodlands after all the talk, I'd go into hiding too.

Hey Woodlands people. Since both teams are a virtual lock for the playoffs and will more than likely both play Klein schools. What are the chances of having a double header for the 1st round? Any thoughts?

I think that the Woodlands will win. I saw them play Katy and I saw College Park play Morton Ranch. I think the Woodlands has a stronger team. Even though they have 4 losses all of them came from top teams.

Wouldnt hold my breath -- it could happen -- but each of the 4 coaches will be looking out for their on good and not concerned about a fan freindly event--- all it would take would be for one of the coaches to refuse to participate & that would kill it

The Woodlands D will control this game I believe. I think the result will be very similar to the Conroe score. The Woods 21 CP 0.
You have to believe the Woods players are going to be up for this game. No one wants to lose to "little brother." College Park has made the Playoffs and no one expects them to win this game. They have nothing to lose.

I say TWHS at a score of about 14-7 but I am not going to hold my breath. It could be close with CP coming of a win and TWHS coming off a crazy week/loss. If the D comes to play then my prediction stands, but if they don't, this could be a very boring, but interesting game. ;)

I have a feeling that College Park is treating this game as bigger than a 1st round playoff game. They will be pumped for it too. I'm still going with my earlier prediction. TWHS 20 TWCP 7
