JT got the ball in the Red Zone and could not punch it in. They guys on the radio said JT has not made a field goal in 2 1/2 years. :eek: Well on 4th down they attempted a field goal and guess what happened.........It was blocked :eek: I was kind of hoping JT would be more competitive this year.

You know what.... I agree. I am ashame what they have done in the past because they were in the STATE CHAMPION in only 5 years ago and they had a huge collapse over the next year. I don't know what the heck its happening? Not because there coming over to Lee but maybe they were having a bad coaching after that since that coach left for state championship for some reason.

JT scored a touch down and went for 2 by trying to do a swinging gate play like Lufkin does. They did not get it. The radio announcer says he has never seen anything like that before. He must not have ever watched Lufkin Panther football. Score is 16-13 Texarkana.

JT forced a 3 and out. Then has a good pass play and moves the ball in the red zone. With 4:03 to go they have 1st and goal at the 5.

That is not a surprise!! Longview has blown out Marshall 4 years straight but Jt played 4a power Texarkana very tough last year.

Texas High was 10-3 last year so JT should be feeling pretty good about they way they have come back in this game. They were kind of sloppy at the beginning of the game.

I sure am glad there was an exciting game for me to listen too. This game was definitely exciting. Even though I hated when Lufkin always lost to JT I still had respect for them just like I respect Tyler Lee, and Longview. I want to see all of our old district teams do good and that includes Nacogdoches too. Final score 20-16 JT.

His play by play guy said umm i think texarkana will go for it with 40 seconds!! :rolleyes: Then he said i think they will go for the win instead of going for the tie when it was 4th and goal at the 7. If anybody that still says that 4a can play with 5a needs help for the most part!! aka farmerfan!! both the #5 and #2 4a team's went down to 5a schools tonight. Longview was not a surprise at all considering they are a 5a power and they destroyed Marshall once again. Jt played Texarkana tough last year until the end and lost to the 4adiv2 champs kilgore 7-6 last year. JT did not win a single game in their 5a district last year. Wake up and smell reality!!

I with ya Pack0808.. that one announcer was on another planet. The play by play guy kept correcting him. He made several comments in the game that made me think he was watching another football game. He had downs and the score wrong more than once.

Anyway, it was a great game and sounds like John Tyler is back on the block. Texas High is a very legit 4A team.

pack, do we have to really start this again?! Last year Lee had 2 players that were at lee playing football because of the minority rule. I do not think i would consider that a lot.

As for the game, i am really excited for JT. They won a big game against a legit 4A team with quite a bit of D1 talent. Their defense will be tough all year, it is just a matter of the offense putting the ball into the endzone. Congrats JT, and maybe East Texas will represent in 12-5A with all three playoff teams. A real possibility after seeing that North Mesquite lost to Skyline Thursday.
