That 6'4 272 lb frame is the result of 'roids! Out for 4 games!
Damn shame! Now, like Bonds, he'll be forever linked to 'roids.
This is a black eye, for the League!;)

Well, all the experts I've heard on the radio over the last few months were wondering why he was such a monster, now we know that a bunch of it wasn't natural.

Yeah he is a *******. But why isnt anyone talking about Shaun Rogers?? Same exact thing. O yeah, I forgot, he went to UT.
But either way. All these recent suspensions are deffinetly putting the spotlight on steriods agian, and in particular lineman in the NFL.

Rogers was for a diuretic - not steroids.
I posted this a few weeks ago - these guys are now officially freaks. I mean - c'mon - 274 pounds!? And he runs like the wind.
Someone do a before and after on Brian Urlacher - a skinny free safety at New Mexico. Is Urlacher clean? Yeah, right he is, as long as he passes I suppose.

Not every athlete in the NFL is on 'roids. (Not just the "great ones" either.)
Some guys look for an edge...and hope not to get caught. But the majority of these guys, some of whom I played with, don't pop pills or inject junk.

Just heard Theezman on the radio talking about this. And I quote...
"Merriman taking steroids was a selfish way of doing something for himself"
Really?
As opposed to ....???????
Is there an announcer out there anywhere that is as dumb as this guy?
Hey Joe.......do us all a favor and shut the hell up.

And another thing about Theezman. When is he gonna get over the whole "I hate the Cowboys" thing?
HE NEVER SAYS ANTHING REMOTELY POSITIVE about the Cowboys.
Always negative. Give it a rest Joe....we know you hate the Cowboys...but you are an announcer now. You have to be unbiased dude.

You can't and shouldn't be willing to prove or disprove it. I just say the League turns a blind eye to issue when you have dumbasses like Romonowski and Co. running around and never getting getting busted for it.
I don't care what the players do, but i don't want to hear them *****ing about not being able to walk when they get out of the League either. I am just saying it's pretty hypocritical of the league to pop someone like Merriman when it is so obvious that he's not the only one.
Where's the NFL's Canseco?
Who's the NFL's Bonds?

You guys might be surprised, but there's nowhere near the percentage that Baseball probably has. You have to remember that the 95% of these athletes have been pumping serious weight since they were 13 yrs old. Most Baseball'ers even admit that they really don't take weight lifting that serious, until they get to college, or even to the Pro ranks.

that's the whole reason I believe there is abuse, because a bunch of them have been lifting since they were 13, but their bodies didn't "mature" until they were 28.
The NFL's steroid problem is much worse but no one notices because there have been no marquee players accused...yet.
There is no way you can honestly tell me all of these humungous guys got that way from 'just honest weight lifting'?
Yea...right

don't start that crap again...
yes, you have the experience of playing in the NFL, you aren't the only one who knows the game, and you certainly can't account for what each and every player puts in his body.
It's more than peculiar when some dude who "has been lifting serious weights since he was 13" and has been in the league 3-4 years suddenly becomes 30-40 pounds heavier and stays fast.
I'm not saying everyone is dirty, but there's no way the League is clean either.

The notion of "knowing" the game and first hand knowledge from "playing" the game can give 2 totally different observations. I was in the locker rooms, on the field and are very good friends with alot of the NFL players. I can't account for what ALL of the players are putting in their bodies, but I can account for many of them.
Shawne may have shot that junk, but he doesn't speak for all of the other players. You're talking about nearly 2,000 Pro athletes. These guys, including myself, have a work ethic that most of you guys wouldn't believe, if you were to see it....which is what gets us to the Pro level.
Look, slorch, you're a cool guy. I like your posts and you make alot of sense, when many others don't. Lets not make this into a load of bs.

I will make this parting shot and let it go-
I don't have to jump off of a bridge to know it would hurt. Just because you're the only one that has played pro ball, doesn't make you the all-knowing deity of the message board. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to make an observation of what's going on. The condescension(sp) is wrong, and is a little bit what is wrong with pro sports in general. "We know what we're doing. You're just a civilian. Shut the _uck up!" That gives instant credibility don't you think?
These guys prove over and over that, just like society, they have different levels of intelligence and morals. If you want to vouch for all of them, that's your issue. When guys keep mysteriously blowing up, it is a logical observation to think they're juicing. I had friends doing it in high school and college. YYou can't tell me it all of the sudden stops when they get to the ultra competitive pros. The demand for performance is unrelenting and the difference between making the squad and being a star is not that great.
we all work with people that bend the rules to get a better bonus/promotion/ ect. And we're talking $2k to $10k in most circumstances. I am supposed to believe that somehow these guys are squeaky clean when when you add 3-4 more zeros to the figure? Stop insulting our intelligence. Yeah, they can beat the tests, but they still walk/ talk/ and act like a duck if you know what I mean...

It happens, but I'm not sure what percentage you're talking about. That said, I'd like to think 80-85% of the players are clean....unless it's spiked in the last few years. (Doubt it.)
But, bro....lets definitely not make any comparisons to the WWE....where (besides 98% of the Wrestlers) even the Ref's and Owner are juiced to no end. Hilarious! :p

With all due respect, I have even a different point of view. I happen to be an aquaintance with someone who sells steroids to alot of NFL guys and Wrestlers. The NFL guys are not going to flaunt it to all their team mates in the locker room. Wrestlers, on the other hand really don't go out of their way to deny it. Steroids are a drug, and drug users/alcoholics and cheaters go out of their way to hid their misdeeds. At the same time, I was amazed on how some guys are careless, and not as discreet. I also have a different point of view in that I used to work in the medical field, and was a body builder years ago; and have studied sports medicine and steroids extensively. No is denying that these athletes work hard. You can take steroids, and not work hard; and not really gain anything but a bloated body, and alot of acne. You need to work hard, as well as use. I am sure there are alot of things your team mates did that you had no idea about. You seem to me like a good guy with good morals. I like to consider myself the same way. Throughout my life, people who have been good friends with me; since I can remember have done plenty of bad things that I had no idea of what they did, were doing, or even that they were capable of doing. Having said this, I have been right there when my friend sold steroids to NFL players, agents or associates of players, businessmen, lawyers etc. There have been athletes from other professional sports as well. I am trying not to single out football. Although I have not noticed basketball players. Just by observing these people, one would not pick up anything from their personality that would lead one to think that they are up to something. Another words, you can't always tell by looking at them or talking to them. When one is talking about pro sports; we are talking big money and big fame. To get there, one must take many risks. Alot of these guys come from humble beginnings, and have nothing else to fall back on if they don't make it. When the stakes are this high, don't tell me that there is not a high percentage of cheaters. Like I implied before, people who habitually cheat are masters of hiding it. Life experience has taught me this. When it comes to the non-athletes who take the steroids, we are talking vanity. People like this do almost anything for vanity, and will go out of there way to hide it. Look at all the people who obviously have had plastic surgery, yet deny it.
