The potential for greatness is definitely there!;)

Is he being recruited as a RB, WR, corner? Just an athlet that they will fit in somewhere maybe?

He's most likely being recruited as a possible back-up to Jamal Charles, but will probably redshirt next season. (McGee may get some carries, next season, behind Charles.) I don't see them trashing his longevity with the team. Plus, he's only 180'ish (soaking wet) so they could try and add about 10-12 pounds of muscle on him, over his redshirt year.

He doesn't play Defense and he'd be too short for WR (@ 5'9...and that's being nice.), unless used in the same situation as a Reggie Bush or Dante Hall.

KR and PR are possibilities.

Yeah there is but one position he can play on the D1 level and that's running back. Having seen him several times over the past couple of years there is no doubt about his ability on the field. I just wonder what kind of yards Chris could rack up if he were allowed that many carries in a single game. i mean he averages 100 yards a game on less than ten carries. So i can just imagne the numbers he would put up if given the amount of carries most back get.

I think fozzy can play RB... i dont know why ppl are doubting him.... and want to label him an "athlete" or so quick to put him at wide reciever... i mean.. the kid can run the ball...

Not trying to Nit pick because I trust your assesment but Steve Smith at 5'9 is possibly the best reciever at the highest level.

I wish him the best of luck in college and (maybe??) the pros. I've seen him play for 3 years now, and he is the real deal. The only bad thing is I get to see him play against A&M for the next 3 years

yeah and if any of yall have seen him this yr he has bulked up a little more and is breaking more tackles now than ever before. SOphmore yr. pure speed back. Junior yr cutting and little elusiveness, Sr. yr combined all three speed cutting and power to run linebackers over, not afriad to square someone up and run right over them and has delevoped a good stiff arm, i see him playin rb, he mayb jus 5'9" but he plays bigger than he is and behind a big line bytime you see him he is goneas he runs a sub 4.4 40. o and if adds a few more 200 yd games start watchin the 5a career rushing as he may move into top10 before yr is over.

Good point. But if you notice, the a'typical WR, for UT, is 6'0 and taller (Q. Cosby being an exception.) If used correctly, Whitaker has the potential to become the next coming of Reggie Bush. (College-wise)

And there are short RB's that are having some success...DeAngelo Williams (5'9), Maurice Jones-Drew (5'7) and Warrick Dunn (5'9).

it seems like every year Texas picks up one of these smaller can do everything runningbacks.

Ya, Eric Metcalf (5'9'ish 175), Priest Holmes (5'9 185), Hodges Mitchell (5'7 180) and Vondrell McGee (5'9 1/2 180) are just a few examples. Fozzy Whitaker should fit well, within the mold.

A&M use to do the same thing, before FranCHOKEY got there....Leeland McElroy (5'9) and Dante Hall (5'8'ish) are a few examples.

o and it should be a smooth transition as pearlands offense is almost mirror image playbook wise except for the never use the pass but its there, its funny to watch my reciever friends go over route after route and run all the trips quad and 5 reciever sets in practice to see 2 passes a game.

and thanks to this guy i got to see one ofthose championship rings all the scouts had on as the kickers never did anything in practice, if any of yall have seen those their a beauty.

and your point is i think they were pointing out that his size doesnt rule him out down the line in college or after.

Could you compare Reggie Bush, as a HS'er, to Fozzy Whitaker? Remember, alot of us believe the competition in Texas is better, than in Cali, so perhaps Reggie wouldn't have had the same kind of success, in Texas.

As for Chris... lotz more but he usually only plays 2 or 3 quarters.

But anywho I hope 2 see this kid Fozzy play... again. I know he played @ our house last yr. but I didn't know too much about him so I wasn't really paying attention to him. I would like to get a glimpse of him and that other kid Sam just to c what they're all about! From what I've heard they're both awesome!

also if fozzy wasnt given the ball every play he might rack up jus as many yds he typically breaks off severall big plays. much less the atleast ten carries where he is tackled when he gets the ball.

He doesnt remind me of Bush, he reminds me alot of Jammal Charles... i mean alot (except not as tall..and jammal is alittle faster i think). Bush cant run between tackles this kid can...

When its all said and done..and Jammal has departed the great U.T campus... The comparisons will be with Jammal Charles.. Who is football player unlike Bush who is a "track star playing RB"

PS. Go see Charles HS Film..You will see why i make the comparison.

Go back and look at that video again and tell me that Pearland doesn't have an outstanding offensive line.

Most of those big runs he is untouched into the secondary.

Not saying he isn't a great back, but let's give the Hogs some love here too.

yeah that was last yr when we did have a good line this yr not so much. weve historically had a good oline, but this yr we only have 1 starter and tweo returnin lettermen, avg size startin line 6'0" 240 with multiple underclassmen. theyre gettin better as yr goes on, but if you can find some highlights form this yr, you would see fozzy true skill. Last night he stiffarmed the safety to the ground and then picked up an extra 15 yds. hes a good quick shifty back wit a lil power .

o and i like the comparison to charles and he is prolyl as fast as he runs a sub4.4 and is a track star jus like charles, i think he runs a 10.1 100

Not having a good o-line can get u in2 trouble when playing NS.
