i thought this was a strange way to open up the season.my son is on the sophmore team at ns and they played elsik but rather than ns sophmore vs elsik sophmore the ns soph team was cut in half. the starters actually played elsik's jv b team and the second string played the elsik soph team.the elsik sophmores looked good scoring on two different drives and the ns team wasn't able to get anything going. the ns sophmore staters(which my son is on)lol evened the score when they dominated a much bigger and more experienced elsik jv b team 28-10 final score.

For some reason Elsik has Freshman A and B team...Sophmore A and B teams and then JV....then somtimes during the regular season....they merge the sophmores to the JV....weird.
Getting ready to leave work. Dont have time to go all the way home and back so I have to go to the game with my work clothes on. Anyone on the NS side want to talk football...I'll have on a Red and White Lacoste shirt...Khaki pants and will have my son with me. Looking forward to a good game.

Wish I could be there to see it. I have a feeling the University of North Shore will make a showing tonight.

This one is OVER! I left with a few minutes left in the 3rd quarter and NS scored another TD while I was in the parking lot making it NS 43 Elsik 7.
NS's defensive line was too big and fast for Elsik. NS's best team on the field this game was Elsik's punting team. I saw two bad snaps, a blocked punt and when Elsik finally got a punt off, NS ran it bak 70+ yards for a TD.
The NS defensive backs can put the pads on ya!! They are well coached on how to tackle.

Well, turns out my prediction was right ;) ...North Shore is big, physical and fast. :D
North Shore wins 58-7. Shore didn't need the kind of help Elsik gave them tonight. The Mustangs' third string back could start for a lot of teams. The O-line probably averages around 310 pounds and not many DLs can stand up to a group like that.

I saw ya there dada and I'm guessing that was KT2000 setting with ya. I was going to come down there and introduce myself, but I didn't fell like getting up and coming down there where you guys were. KT you should know by now that it is a given that every year North Shore will be big fast and physical. Thats become a way of life for us. And I agree the second and third string offenses looke dreally good. And its another given that most of second and third stringers could start for almost any team in the state.
North Shore has never really been known for havign a lot of big name players but they have always been known for having good quality players that get the job done. Though for me the question still remains how much have we improved and corrected on the meltdown of the last two game sof last season? As I said in one of the other threads other than Woodlands we won't face a true test until we meet Pearland in week 11.

Dada and I were talking about that same thing concerning North Shore's competition. They can't do anything about who they play, but they have complete control over their will to become champions again as well as if they improve as a team from week to week. As long as they can focus on improving as a team all-around, and keep handling their business on the field they'll be ready for whatever obstacle arises during the playoffs.

I am not a believer until they beat a big time 5a team this year after the absolutely embarrassing defeat by Westfield. The same team Tyler Lee beat in the finals who my Panthers beat and our east texas brothers the Lobos beat. Something just does not seem right there?? A big time team does not get beat like that?? No offense!! The ns 03 team was special but that game last year threw me off on how good ns is currently. I need more proof!!

Pack, North Shore wasn't nearly as bad as that game against Westfield indicated. I think it was definitely one of those games where everything just went wrong for one team (NS) and right for the other (Westfield). Shore had a very good team last year in my opinion, and just picked a bad time to play their worst game of the last few years.

Definitely KT that day the ball just wasn't bouncing our way. Had we been able to prevent a few of the turnovers we could have easily gotten back in that game. Though I do kind of agree with Pack in that we won't really know where this team is until they play a quality opponent. I'm hoping that will be Woodlands.

I have seen NS play two games now (03 title game and last night) and I can say without a doubt that those two teams are the hardest hitting teams I have ever seen. As KtCarl said, the DB's will absolutly smack you in the mouth, not to mention the rest of the team. If they improve on what they have now and don't lose any key players to grades or injuries then I don't see how they can't be a favorite to win the big school title.

North Shore could have easily put up 70...their O-line was big and physical....and their D-line was in the backfield before Elsik could do anything. Yeah that was me and KT2000 down there. I said the exact same thing....they wont get tested until playoff time(No disrespect to the Woodlands)...Elsik in the other hand has the talent and speed to get them 6 wins this year.....I told you guys to watch that Cavness kid....he was the bright spot for the rams.

Oh yeah....word of advice to all NS opponets...STAY AWAY FROM #8...the guy is a fast, physical DB.......and great open field tackler....look for him to Shadow Drabek next week.

Dada - if #8 shadows Drabek next week then he will be the all time best cover man in history - since he will have to be covering Hastings at the NS home opener next week. The Woodlands game is in two weeks.
I was at the game this past Friday and have to say - that this team does indeed have the potential to be just as good as the 03 team. They showed flashes of 03 - why they even had a QB wearing #14. I believe he was the 2nd string guy after Terrance Cain - which by the way looked very good. Very steady and very cable of being the leader of this team.
Elsik was not that bad in the beginning - but then everything fell apart on them - for example - snaps going over the head of punter. I don't know but it seemed like Elsik all of a sudden realized who they were playing and got intimidated. They got desperate early on by faking a punt and failed - NS just poured on the points from there.

I was not at the game friday but if Aymond said this might be the best offense he's had then that is some very strong words. Shore's offense in '01 was as powerful as 03's. I hope they can muster a stout defense all season. I don't want to get too excited yet but it "Shore" looks good right now. I personally think they will rebound from last years debacles and are back
on the track for playoffs.
Also glad to see more of Shore supporters on this web site-
