Okay, i know its 3A a football team, but I went to the 3A Ranchview vs some 4A school cause I was told I had to check out this guy...

His name is Ethan Kraus, he starts both ways on the line...

Offensivly he was a little shakey, but he would often light up opposing freshmen. Defensive wise, he broke through the line every play, he finished with about 6 tackles and 2 sacks one for a safty, and caused a fumble...This kid is amazing I recomend you guys go check him out.

Hes about 6-2/6-3 about 200lbs

I'm not sure. At alot of schools, they dont alow freshmen to play on JV/V I know Moody didnt play V until his Jr season, and neither did 6-5A running back Jamall Evans...he played on the freshmen team in 2002

I expect this kid to be like that. According to his coachs he will be on Varsty next year, he has one thing standing against him, he'll play this year in 3A the next to years in 4A and his senior year in 5A

SV will not play them either. No matter how good they are. They only have one SO on the team this year.

We played Carrolton Ranchview on JV in 2003, it was Ranchview's 2nd year of existence. The team we played was basically their varsity full of only sophomores and freshmen. Their coaches had headsetes and everything(it was just a JV game) and we got beat so bad it was embarrasing. 63-0. They ran back the opening kickoff. Then they returned our fumble for a touchdown. Then we punted the ball to their 3 yardline. Their center snapped the ball, and their QB saved the ball from going out of the back of the end zone then ran 110 yards for a touchdown. By halftime it was 42-0 and it was embarrasing.

yeah sad that they suck now... there freshmen team looks like they will go 10-0 they look pretty impressive, they have a pretty good qb he threw for two very deep td passes last night...Ethan is an amazing player as well, He is very raw, he needs work on his offensive stance, you can tell when hes pass blocking cause his butt drops down, its not that big of deal in freshmen, but when your playing with the big boys teams notice that sorta thing

If he is a Freshman, he probably has a lot to learn about the way the game is played at that school. At Judson, most freshmen never have a chance to goto varsity, since JV and V practice at the red campus, and the Fr practice at the grey campus.

there probably aren't 10 across the state that play as freshmen.plano has one this year, and slc had one graduate last year that was one. it's hard enough to play as a sr , but a fr is nigh on impossible.

can you imagine the change in crowds from 8th grade to Varsity.

Consol has a Junior RB named Palmer. In his freshman year, the coaches moved him up the Varsity for the playoffs. His brother was a senior and at one point, they were in the same backfield.

palmer got to play and with his brother at the same time, same backfield. that must have been pretty cool for those two brothers.

I did too, but I went to a small school. Like you, I just watched the cheerleaders the whole game. I dont even know why they took us, we didnt even get to warm up before the game. And our helmets were different than the varsity, we looked like a pee wee team that got to suit up and go along for the ride as a make-a-wish type of deal.

Reggie McNeal played WR for Lufkin in '98 as a freshman and I believe OL/DL Ju Parks may have also. Those are the only 2 i can remember ever playing for Lufkin as freshman

in the 02 game, after a sv starter would make a play, the cameraman would scan the sidelines and focus on a peachfuzzed frosh or soph with a slick helmet with the same number, and feature his grill while talking about the real player. i guess the 15 seconds of fame was truly fleeting.

I guess it depends on what school you play for...some schools only have freshmen, JV and Varsity teams....I played varsity my freshman and sophmore year...matter of fact it was a few of us...all from the same middle school that played on our High School varsity team.

We saw this kid play at Crandall Thursday. Ranchview went up 27-0 at half and pulled back after that so as not to embarrass Crandall.
After opening big holes on the opening drive for a score this Kid Kraus (51) made the first two tackles for losses and the tone was set.
He is still a kid...lots of growing to do. Some Ranchview parents said he is projected to grow to 6'8"-6'10". If that happens look out!

this kid is amazing, he'll be starting varstey next year, any coach that does not start a 6'2 200lbs defensive end, with his speed and stength is crazy, espically when they move up to 4a there going to need some speed this kid has
