Klein Versus Klein Forest and District 16-5A

OK it is that time of the week for the predictions in the battle for District
16-5A.

This will be a very tough game for Klein versus a very fast Klein Forest team. My prediction is a Klein Upset by 7.

Klein Collins plays Klein Oak. My prediction Klein Oak by 21.

Westfield has a bye week

Spring and Tomball play. I have no idea who will win this. Any predictions?

Klein Freshmen "A" team plays KF. Last week Klein beat Klein Collins 35-18 Still undefeated at 7-0 my prediction....Klein by 14.

There is my Klein Freshmen "A" team plug for the week.

After outplaying Westfield I think about KF in a whole different light. Perhaps it will be a close game because of the district rivalry and such, but I think KF wins it.

Last time I checked, freshmen didn't go to the playoffs or at least they didn't when I was in school so who cares about their record.

I have not seen Klein play in several years and I would venture to say that although they may be big and strong, there is no way they can contain the speed that KF displayed Saturday. You can throw the record books out the window for this game. Although KF has replaced Klein with Westfield as their top rival, Klein will come like it us their superbowl. If KF builds off last weekend, KF by three touchdowns.

The future of Klein Forest and Klein for this year and the next 3 is the Freshmen. So Sniper get used to the Freshmen threads. You are absolutely right about last year's KF team. Things to keep in mind are that last year's KF team was VERY young, & only the second year with the new head coach. This is his third year for him & most of the key players returned. This may look like a similar team in terms of speed & athleticism, but it is a much different team in terms of attitude.

You are right about it being a tough ball game, I just wouldn't look at last year as an indicator as to what you will get out of KF this year.

They jus lost to Westfield on two 4th quarter touchdowns. The score was 13-12. Westfield A Team is 7-0 and they have a bye week they need it to prepare for Klein

Doesn't the undefeated KF soph. team play today? How good is Klein's soph team? I will take KF by 15 in this one and the KF undefeated freshmen B team 12. They have an older coach that coaches their defense that does a great job.

My point was never that KF got bigger, stronger, faster, etc. & that Klein did not. My point is that KF is a better football team this year than last in some immeasurable areas; team cohesiveness, attitude, discipline.

By the way, several of those same freshman played against one another in last year's varsity game & it didn't matter. If anything, getting beat like that as freshman only served to wake up the KF players.

I keep saying this because I believe it, Klein is a VERY good football team. They are big up front & really play to their strengths with their running game. After seeing the way KF played against Westfield I just think KF has raised their level of play considerably. I KNOW that he Klein kids will come in with a chip on their shoulder trying to prove that they too should be considered part of the district elite with KF & Westfield & it may just be enough to keep the game close, as it did last year. But if KF stays locked in from last week & doesn't take Klein lightly it could be ugly. If the KF team comes in thinking they will win just because they have more talent, as was the attitude last year, then it will be close again.

Klein needs to work on it's kickoff coverage. Against Collins they gave up a Touchdown and many nice returns. As for their punt block team, it is very good.

Dont forget coaching. Klein coaching is not the best. KF's is much better...and Klein secondary isss...not that good. My prediction Klein Forest 35-17.

Pretty easy to look good on both sides of the ball if you are playing Collins and Kingwood. What they will see Saturday, they havent seen since playing Katy. Dont think Klein can keep up.

If Klein had the same gameplan it has right now, when they played Katy then that game would have been a total different ball game. Ever since Klein started to feature Horace in their offense, the team has started to look much much better. Basically, the outcome of the game is going to in my opinion come down to how KF can contain Horace.

The one comparison that you don't add here is the QB. KF QB play has been a disappointment for them this year. Lakin was supposed to be a big deal, but has limited what the athletes can do over there. Klein QB, Smith is a Trent Dilfer type, just don't turn it over, but he has improved each game as he gets more comfortable. Klein DB's are not great, but can match up with some pressure from up front. Klein will have to force 3 and out situations, and it would be good if the offense took more than 3 plays to have Gibson go 75 yards! I am going to game, so see you all there. I think that it goes down to a field goal, either a long Klein one or a short KF one. By the way, my office mate says the Klein Freshman beat up the KF guys who were a whole head taller across the board.

i just dont know why people underestimate klein so much, they have changed the program totally around since last year, this is their year to shine these seniors and juniors have been beating up on these teams since freshman year they are out for blood after the terrible double overtime loss to forrest last year, forrest is a very good team and klein cant take them lightlty but i think if klein plays to their potential they will be victorious this saturday...keys to watch horace gibson and KF's back i forgot his name, and both defenses people think kleins defense isnt good because coach labay likes to put the second and third team in a lot and they get most the points racked up against the team...this will be an overall battle klein upsets forrest by 7
