CHAMINADE-MADONNA FOOTBALL TEAM "GROUNDED"



Just spoke with Chaminade-Madonna head football coach Mark Guandolo, and their originally scheduled 10:00am Friday flight had been moved up to 9:30pm tonight.

Now, Guandolo is telling me tonight's flight has been cancelled, and they're working on options.

This could get a little hairy before it's said an done...could end up being a Category 2 Hurricane soon.

Landfall is projected for Fort Lauderdale at 2:00am-3:00 on Friday morning.

Fort Lauderdale hasn't taken a direct hit from a Hurricane in nearly three-decades.

Guandolo and I will remain in touch throughout the day.

Wow, I didnt think the hurricane was effecting airtravel yet... hopefully they can get a flight out before Christmas....

Centex you are sure into these games where Texas teams are playing other states?? Do you have some big bets against a Florida or Ohio guy on these games?? ;) Seems like you have been talking about these games a lot more then your beloved Waco Lions??

nah...i like supercentex.......

I think their only options are going to be chartering buses and driving over this way.

What a long bus ride though......would probably come out cheaper tho than the airline prices.

I'm in Broward Co. Things are starting to get really crummy here. The weather its starting to rain pretty hard and the winds are picking up. The local weather people say this storm will probably turn into a Cat 1 and hit late tonight or early tomorrow (Friday).

If they dont get out today (Thur) , I dont see them getting out of Ft.Lauderdale Friday. They would have to leave early Saturday or really really really late Friday. We'll see what happens.

Or another option is for them to bus to another airport close to Laudy.

But, I just heard that Titus Sports Marketing let the charter buses know at DFW that they woudl be arriving super late on Friday night around midnite...so they must be planning to leave LATE Friday night.

they will get another catagory 2 hurricane after Lee gets a hold of that tail, saturday night--LOL.....JTate---i will be there sat. at Rose to pull for you guys--good luck to yall........supercentex--thanks for the updates brother....without you, we wouldn't know what the hell is going on--LOL....good luck to Waco this season.............

Yes, I watch weather channel ALOT and the Eye was on Hollywood and Lauderdale and I was like how is that football team going to get out of there for our game? haha.

How would you if its catagory 2? It might be only Tropical Storm or might even be Category 5 which is very bad and that means alot of Florida Teams would have long time to be out of football due to mess on the field or whatever.
