Just wanted to let yall know I added the 95 Garland Lakeview-Lake Highlands Bi-District game to the Greatest Games page (1990s). I believe the game featured 5 or 6 future NFL players and was decided on penetrations.

I'd like to encourage anyone with a great game story (that we don't already have on there) to e-mail us their summary. I know we need more games from the 80s.

My e-mail is in my signature.

That was a GREAT game!! We were eliminated by the same Lake Highlands team, 14-13 in round four at Texas Stadium. I remember Marcus Stiggers the most from that LH team. We beat them the next year for our Homecoming, but they advanced further once again. It seems like they went four or five rounds nearly every season in the mid-to-late 90s. Seems like they were giving Garland fits as well. :D

great game. I remember that one well. The night before we spanked Plano. Two great teams. Lakeview was tough that year, and we were eliminated by LH the year before. I still remember lots of players and have the highlights on my old High School Roundup tape. Great long bomb before halftime for Lakeview!!!. I wonder how that one would have gone if there was overtime back then.

BTW, Both teams had sweet unis back then. Why did either school tinker with perfection?

Lakeview's were classics - I had heard that the new LC coach wanted to go with a more traditional look - hopefully, they will scrap the gold helmets.

I remember another playoff game between LC and Plano. PSHS led late, then LC hit a long TD to take the lead with about a minute to go. The Wildcats then drove to the 50. Plano's QB, under pressure, threw a deep interception with about 30 seconds left. The LC defensive back started to return the ball, was wrapped up, and tried to LATERAL it. Plano recovered the fumble, and two plays later, scored a touchdown to win the game.

Agony!
