6-5A flush with tailbacks
The area's best district is stocked with star senior tailbacks.

District 6-5A features four of the area's top five returning 5A rushers: Irving's Jamaal Evans, Coppell's Emmanuel Moody, Euless Trinity's Dimitri Nance and Irving Nimitz's David Watkins. All four are expected to sign with Division I-A programs.

"It's just crazy," South Grand Prairie coach David Fisher said. "I've been coaching for 21 years, and never have I been around this many [elite] running backs in the same district."

No area tailback can match the 5-9, 175-pound Evans' production. He has rushed for 4,556 yards and 53 touchdowns in his career, posting back-to-back 2,000-yard seasons.

Rivals.com ranks the 6-1, 195-pound Moody as the state's top tailback recruit. Moody, who has committed to Texas, has amazing speed (4.4 in the 40), power (305-pound bench press) and ability to change direction.

Nance (5-10, 195) has the luxury of running behind Trinity's massive line. He bursts through big holes for big gains and is savvy and shifty enough to be productive even when the blocking breaks down.

Watkins was a backup to Evans, his cousin, as a sophomore before transferring to Nimitz. He blossomed in a workhorse role last season.

The tailbacks don't get caught up in competing with each other. Moody said his goal is to break Thomas Pratt's school rushing record of 2,001 yards, set in 2003. Evans said he wouldn't want to emulate the powerful styles of Watkins and Moody.

"If you get in their way, they're just going to run through you," Evans said. "I want to put you on my highlight reel by shaking you."

Defenses around the district hope not to appear on the foursome's highlight films, a goal that is difficult if not impossible
