translate on the field-what do you think of this match-up?

I'm predicting a win for Coach Samples and the Raiders but I'll be sitting over in the shade with the Stallions. :)

I'm fairly sure Skyline will have more talent on the field as usual, but will they put it all together for the win? I'm going to go with 'I hope not'. :D

I have more confidence in our defense this year, but there are still areas of concern. I have no idea what we are going to be able to do offensively, but our Offensive line should be pretty good (eventually, anyways) this season. We need some hard running from Aldarius Thompson (5-11, 172, 4.4) until our new QB gets settled in. Should be interesting, but more importantly it's finally here!

This is a great opening game. Last year it was possibly the best and this year should be no different. I'll go with Skyline - They probably haven't gelled yet but the talent they put out there is to tempting to bet against!

Any stats or info on this game? How did Skyline win and how did N Mesquite lose?

All I know is that it was North Mesquite down 14-6 then they got to the 1 yard line with 3 seconds left but got a delay of game and forced them back 5 years so they kicked the field goal instead.

Missed an PAT on their Touchdown. And then got a touchdown to start the 2nd half. Thats about all I know.

I don't have numbers but,:

Skyline scored first on a long touchdown pass. Missed conversion after a penalty.
NM had the ball near their goaline. They fumbled. Skyline recovered scored on offense. Completed 2 point conversion.

NM scored on a short run play that came after a long pass completion. Missed conversion.

Skyline fumbled and NM recovered drove and settle for a field goal. 14-9

After the half. Nm scored a rushing TD, Converted EP. 16-14

Skyline scored a rushing TD and converted point after.

I was at the game. The only reason NM lost this one was because they fumbled twice deep in their own territory and gave Skyline a short field. The Raiders turned both fumbles into TDs.

Well turnovers are part of the game, and if you cough up the ball it can cost ya!!

so very very true. And actually turnovers are a huge part of the game!! The team that has the fewer turnovers usually wins. That is the way it is.

Yep, we need to fix those turnovers. I'm still optimistic about this season. I think we will be ready by the time district play starts, and that's what is most important.

Sorry to hear about the loss, I miss playing against Mesquite and North Mesquite... always good opponents and great games...

Hopefully NM can rebound and get those W's :)
