Who is your teams biggest, most hated rival?

For years Lufkin's biggest rival was Nacogdoches. But recently that has become a joke. I still hate Nac though. My HS memories are filled with hatred for Nac-a-nothing.
I still consider Longview a rivalry game. Regardless of the past 10 games..it's still a rivalry.
Playoff time?
SLC...no doubt about that...there is a great deal of respect for them by the Pack faithful...but it's getting old. The hate is brewing.

I would say Baytown Sterling for Baytown Lee, but I don't necessarily hate Sterling. We change district alignments too much to really develop any rivalries with any other teams. The Golden Triangle teams are the only ones that are in the same district with Baytown every time they re-align. PAM is new. Central is 4A now and we don't play them much. West Brook is really the only team that Lee has played every year for the past 15 or so, at least I think we have always been in their district. But, they are too far away to be a hated rival.
I personally hate LaPorte and Deer Park much more so than Sterling or West Brook. Unfortunately, we havent been in their district in quite some time.

It's hard for me to pinpoint somebody for Judson. I would say it was Clemens a few years back, but they spend too much time in 4A. Madison and Roosevelt have been rivals for years, but a rivalry with SV is developing. I don't know which one to pick.

Roosevelt has always been our rival...because of how close the 2 schools are AND because a few neighborhoods are split between the two schools.
Judson and SV has become a sort of rivalry, ESPECIALLY on this message board. Judson- "We have Titles" SV- "We have been there a couple times, but lost to SLC, that's pretty good". When it all comes down to it, this "rivalry" is tied at 1-1, with Judson barely leading the points 37-36. Pretty good one.
Clemens would be if they would stay in 5A...

We've had quite a few in our history.
In the early days of the TCIL, our biggest rivals were Galveston Kirwin and Port Arthur Bishop Byrne.
Then, when we finally got into a district, it was Waco Reicher. St. Thomas of Houston was a really big playoff rival too, and eventually became a tough district foe.
Bishop Lynch then came about in 1965 and a pretty big rivalry developed--so big that it was called off for 17 years between 1988 and 2003.
In the meantime Strake Jesuit of Houston became our biggest rival, especially when we were in the "Jesuit Bowl" and there wasn't anybody else for us to play.
In recent years, the combination of close games in football, hockey, and soccer has made us pretty big rivals with Coppell. Even though we now play BL too, I'd consider Coppell to be our biggest rival today.
I don't know who will become our rivals in the new district. In old 10-5A, our football team had something going with Lake Highlands, but that series is over. Berkner may develop into a big rival...we'll have to see in time. In swimming, it was JJ Pearce, but that rivalry didn't really become an all-sports rivalry.
So overall, Coppell, because Lynch really isn't good at anything anymore.

I would have to say for Leander it would be Cedar Park. This is a fairly new rivalry since Cedar Park came into 5-a that really grew after last years game. I played H.S. ball for Austin Reagan and our big rival was Austin LBJ. It seems every year the game decided the district, but with the way Reagan's program has declined it has become pretty meaningless.

Last year we got beat pretty bad, although we were missing our QB, Mid Linebacker(also our team captain) and strong safety. You could say 3 very important players. We had to start a sophomore at QB who had known our complex offense with a steep learn curve for maybe 3 months, so we were limited with offensive play calling. Although I don't think we would have won without our starter at QB we could have put up more of a fight offensively and made some kind of game about it. Losing the game hurt very badly although I would rather lose 42-0 than lose 21-17 like we did against Macarthur any day.
I also was host to a shower of coca-cola and rains of spit walking into the locker room at halftime. That came from the Trinity middle school section.

I don't want to throw the whole fanbase under the bus, but there is a certain undesirable element that came with them. I can only attribute it to the Big Fish from another pool joining our pool. It's actually a unique situation where the 2 most successful teams in a Region are in the same district. I just wish there was respect on both sides. You're right about SV not fitting in 26-5A. It's because they don't want to fit. Most of us want to see the district do well and are proud of the members. All they care about is gaining the respect of the state and they don't give a crap about the rest of the teams in the district or San Antonio. They don't even say nice things about any of us or root for us. That's OK because we'll do OK without their support.

I don't think that. I don't look at SV as losers because they've lost state 3 times. They just weren't good enough on those days to take the title. Judson has won 6 titles, but they've also lost 5 title games on the field.
I don't even think those losses are why they post like they do. I think it's just the people's style.

That's what Colorado thought a couple of years ago when UTEP almost beat them at the bowl game in Houston. But we all know UTEP has stepped it up in big games against Big 12 teams. And instead of using the Tech game as a stepping stone to bigger things they have taken a big step back. When at the beginnng of the season they were picked at the top of CUSA. Injuries have been a factor too.

Use to be MacArthur, then it changed to Eisenhower, but now we also have a rivalry with Nimitz. Although, the biggest is always Eisenhower. 10,000 in Thorne stadium and games with a score no greater than 7 point difference within the past 10 years shows how big it is.

We usually make the trip whenever UTEP plays in Houston but I am a little unsure about making the trip this time. I have a feeling U of H will take it to UTEP. Like I said before UTEP has been playing uninspired football. We have seen them play at Rice before but not U of H. I kind of like that Rice stadium actually. That immediate area in general is pretty nice. And UTEP usually has a fun crowd that shows up . Alot of them are UTEP fans living in Houston.

In my high school days it was Spring Branch and Memorial - the classic Rich vs the Middle Class and we were north of the train tracks and they were south. We had FFA, they had Young Republicans. You get the picture.
We hated one another with a passion and now my old neighborhood goes to Memorial - sad but true. I still hate Memorial to this day and my school has been closed for 20+ years! I do like the coach though - I've known him for many years and he's a good guy.
For Cy Falls - I would guess that at this very moment in time, Cy Fair is our biggest rival. It used to be Langham it seemed but that has changed. It was Jersey Village for a while - because we hadn't beaten them in like 10 years and then we beat them (that was a fun game!!) and the thrill was gone. Cy Fair likes to say they are the original Cy School and I like to say there is a strange love/hate relationship going there since the schools are so darn close to one another and the kids attended the same jr highs in many cases.

My most vivid memory of Cy Fair is from back in the 70's...we used to get on the old Hempstead Hwy for our away game at the old Cy Fair stadium - yes, the rickety one behind the school. That trip wasn't as short as it is now because there was no 290 and we had to come from Bingle and Hempstead. So, I was in the drill team at the time and we were beating the Bobcats and then we started stomping our feet on the wooden bleachers. Remember, we played our home games at the fabulous (at the time) Tully Stadium so we were used to stomping our feet on concrete. At any rate, none of us fell through but one of our teachers did - right through the rotted wood!! She wasn't hurt too bad but they did take her to the hospital...she was a math teacher if I remember correctly. If it had been a year earlier, your Coach P. would have been playing in that game against the Bobcats!

I was at this game and I am sure that Bell did that as an accident. I was on the Trinity Side on the 30 or so yardline close to that inflatable helmet, and not only were they getting loud in there but they were also in there forever. With the noise they were making and the noise of the air compressor, I doubt they would have come out.
Anyway, he said he didn't think they would win with their players, but he thinks they would have hung in there longer. How is that making excuses? And he is right. With whoever played QB for Bell that game, he sure did pretty well as he led some decent drives into Trinity territory but could not finish them. Who knows what would have happened had the Bell running back actually have been able to catch the screen passes that were wide open all game.
But this game is in the past. I expect Trinity to make it 9 in a row this year easily, but I know they didn't run out of the tunnel on purpose. This rivalry has gone downhill ever since Trinity gained a huge geographical advantage if you know what I mean.

Canyon should have been in the same district as SV because they are both in the Comal ISD but they are in different districts in sports and that is what I don't understand.
Its kind of and inside joke with all the SV posters. they are they only ones that know what I am talking about because that is what we said when we were in the same district as canyon.
