This poll is just as much garbage as they always are. What did John Curtis do to not be in the top 50? They should be there before the other 3 Louisiana teams.
At least this year, the Texas teams are playing the top 50 and will show once and for all they're better than the other states. There should be more Texas teams in the top 50.

see whats bad is all the texas teams play eachother, and they lower their rankings with a loss, stuff like that, i have a feeling though more texas teams will be in there, at the end of the season than there are now

One thing that I dont get is why is SV never in these polls? Did anyone get as close to beating the dragons as SV last year? Im not saying that they should be number 1 by any means, but at least 49 or 50, or something? Am I wrong? I know these mean nothing but ink on paper, but it would be cool sometimes if SV would get the respect they have worked so hard to get. Am I wrong that SV deserves to be in this list somewhere?

you are dead right. not only sv, but westfield and kt and several 4a teams too. there will be a falling out since these teams play each other more than in years past. there will be the potential of more accurate polls with the interstate games between top 50 schools.

Though so, I mean SV almost beat the #1 on that list. They were closer than any other team. I have a feeling that SV would beat at least half of the teams on that list, but we will never find that out unless some really rich guy would volunteer to fund some games!! ANYONE?. Westfield is in the same boat as SV when it come to that I guess. Oh well, hopefully SV will just continue their success, list or no list... I cant wait until this gets started. That scrimmage only makes me more excited!

i think you guys should be rated, because like you said you almost beat the number one team, and you guys have a heck of a team, im think top 25, top 30, possibly, but the good thing about not being ranked, is you guys have less pressure than the ranked teams to live up to that "expecation" , you guys have all to gain, polls wise

True, and Hill does not like these things anyway. He does not even know where SV is ranked at anytime during the season. Assistant coaches will say, " Hey coach, we are ranked #3 this year". He will say. "oh, ok, well we still have a whole season ahead of us, and I want to be number 1, lets watch film". Its funny to hear that. After a while even the assistants quit paying attention to it. And he never uses these ranking as motivation. I was just curious if I was the only one that noticed they are never in it. Also there are some that the coach has to turn in stats for, and Hill never sends them in so that is understandable when they dont show up..

you think these so called experts would get the stats from watching these games, oh wait they dont watch they just go by the teams they heard of and stuff.. but yea i noticed that to that SV wasnt in any of those polls, did they finish the season last year ranked nationally?
on a sidenote, zippy, did you get it from teh song "zippidy day, oh my what a wonderful day" haha seeing that made that song jump into my mind

SV is in the same boat as Judson. Judson is never in these polls, but we still do good. SV isn't in the poles and hopefully they will do well also.

And Judson beat SV last year. Your right.. However SV had a better overall season, but still.

Your got that right. Some of them have never seen many of these teams in person I am sure, and I bet they have not seen some of them even on film. Oh well, no big deal. As for the name, I got it when in high school. I played DB, and one time I hit this guy comming over the middle really good (looked worse than it was). But anyway, my DB coach was really fired up and said that the hit was ZIPPY!! I think he meant to use another word there but it was so funny that everyone started calling me that, and it stuck. There are a couple of people on the board that I know, and they have e-mailed me. I guess its unique.. :)

I'm going to have to disagree on that one. Usually, I'll say the team that went further in the playoffs was better, but in this case, Judson beat SV and played harder teams through the regular season and semis than SV. I'll say 13-1 is better than 13-3. Furthermore, Judson beat 2 teams that beat SV (Pflugerville and... themselves in the semis!)

Lonny Said: What did John Curtis do to not be in the top 50? They should be there before the other 3 Louisiana teams.
I dont think so. JC isn't there because they really arent all that hot. They didn't really play anybody. JC is good, but they are not on the caibre of ECA or even WM (sadly enough).
Besides. This poll is kinda pointless anyway...They put Longview lower than ECA and Longview beat ECA. go figure that? ECA didn't beat anybody of any real stature last year other than WM. And they really arent what I would consider a team of stature.

I get your point, but one team played for a title and the other didnt. From a coaching perspective, I would take the latter all day long. Accourding to your logic, SV could have beat SLC (#1 in the nation), took home the ring, yet accourding to your arguement, Judson would have still had a better season? Oh yea, that was VERY close to what happened. I also know you dont want to hear it, but SV changed a little bit toward the end of the season. Those 16 points needed to beat Judson would have come along a little easier toward the end. And Judson just beat one team that SV didnt, and thats Pflugerville. However, that loss.also was at an early stage in the year when SV was struggling. They also lost a key player early in the Judson game. That didnt help matters. I dont like to argue with people from my area, cause I want everyone to go far. Judson D1 Champs, SV D2 champs would make my day! But I do disagree with your comments. Also if I remember you are the huge Judson fan, right. You have to disagree :D
