Game was delayed an hour by lightning, then delayed another hour by excessive penalties, then delayed another hour by homecoming.

Stratford played a poor, sloppy game, but Andrew Luck's rocket arm bailed them out. Spring Woods is feisty but will still not win many. If Stratford plays that way in district we will go 0 for Aldine.

But I think they'll get more focused next week and play better.

How'd Burge look?

Luck's stats: 15-18, 317 yards, 0 picks, 3 TDs.

On the last play of the first half, he broke a tackle in the pocket, scrambled out of his shoe, rolled to the right sideline, and with a guy on his back threw the ball about 50 yards into the endzone to hit the receiver in the numbers for a touchdown. Andrew can really play. And he has a very fine WR in John Sorsby who gets open, catches everything, and can get YAC.

As for Jimmy Burge, he's playing very well but I think the shift from DT to NG has reduced his impact defensively. As a DT he roams laterally very well and makes a lot of plays, at NG of course he is always being doubleteamed. But he adds bulk in the middle of a defense that desperately needs it. Our defensive weakness is at the corners, Jimmy does very well anchoring the middle. He's a Div 1-A player imho.

is this Luck kid any away related to the Luck that played at Spring Branch high school in the late 70's that was a running back?

I think he is the son of Oliver Luck whom played QB for the Houston Oilers.

Here's another football team I gotta see play that is close to the Katy area. I like Tully Stadium too.

Correct.

Andrew Luck, who is a junior, is exceedingly well-known to college FB scouts around the country. He puts on a great show and has some skilled receivers and a good running back to complement him.

Hey Spartan, I agree Stratford might be a little weak at corner, but how many passing teams are they going to play really. Burge and Huggins should be enough to stop most of these teams in this district a few times to let Andrew Luck pile up more points than the oppponent. I like the safety for Stratford too. Latrell I believe. He's a good ball player.

I guess I meant to refer to them as being weak on the edges. Outside LBs and corners are not great run stoppers so folks are running wide on us with great success.

Mike Luttrell is a very fine athlete who makes plays and will hit you.

Yep, we were outclassed by Cy Fair for sure.
