Well... I had the score about right... but the teams reversed... What happened in Allen. The last score I heard was Allen 7 Plano 0 and then all of a sudden... Allen jumps out. Was this a closer game than the score indicates?

East second teamers scored the last Panther touchdown. I thought Lake Highlands was a better ball club... going to be a tough year for LH.

Seems like Allen, Richardson Berkner, & Plano East will remain in the top 15 in the state!:)

Allen and Plano score was very close in the first half. The first half was very frustrating, some bad coaching calls IMO. Plano would make long drives but Allen managed to keep them out of the endzone. 2nd half wasn't so close. The momentum swung our way once Tariekus Ellis made a big play. It was 23-3 until Plano scored a touchdown in the final seconds so it really wasn't that close.

Congrats to PESH, Berkner, and West on their wins tonight. We'll see where some of us stand next week when Allen visits Berkner and East and West take on each other. East has been better than I thought they would this year so I see them winning pretty big next week.

ITs 5 teams, east, west, Allen, Berkner and Plano for 4 playoff spots. Plano had a frustrating night. Finally, Brence made the switch to Burkhead at QB. Here is a quote from the DMN Blog from Todd Willis.

Second prediction finally comes true
Yes, it finally happened. My second prediction came true. Rex Burkhead played quarterback for Plano.

Unfortunately, Allen was already ahead 21-3 when it happened.

I'm not going to sit here and second-guess coach Gerald Brence on why Burkhead didn't start the second half. Starter Greg Harrell obviously got a talking-to at halftime and came out and ran with a purpose to start the third quarter. He took Plano on its first drive that resulted in a field goal to cut the lead to 7-3.

In a case of bad luck for Harrell, Plano's defense missed some crucial tackles on Allen's ensuing drive and Plano fell behind 14-3. Harrell fumbled on the next series, Allen scored and Burkhead got the call down 21-3.

I do want to say that down 7-0 at halftime, it would have been interesting to see Burkhead play the whole second half at quarterback. I'm not saying Plano would have won the game, but wow, Burkhead showed a cannon for an arm and even though he threw an interception, he was on target with just about all of his passes.

I predict Plano will go 5-1 the rest of the way, losing to either Berkner or Plano East.
