Just to see what everybody else thinks...some questions about Garland stats
Will Tim pass for 1000 yds?
Will Donta rush for 1000 yards?
Will Malcolm Williamshave 500 yards receiving?
Will Devin McDowell or John Murphy have more than 5 INT's each?
Will Brandon Antwine have 10 sacks?

I'm gonna give Crosby 1000 yards because I think hes got the experience and personel to do it this year.
Donta Sloan WILL WITHOUT A DOUBT rush much more than 1000. You saw this kid at the scrimmage, he can play! Prob. the best back I've seen at Garland since...thats right, Donta Hart.
I think Malcolm will have a breakout year, catching a lot of long TD passes.
I'm not sure about the INT's but this secondary will be real good.
Brandon Antwine will do some huge things this year and 10 sacks is definetly not out of the question. Offensive Lines will fear this kid! And QB's will hate him more because he will live in the backfield!!

I say Murphy gets more than 5. He got exactly that last year, and think he'll do better this season.

int's esp for cb's are very difficult to predict. the opposing team can pretty much remove a cb from the int list by going the other way. running teams also don't throw many int either. safeties aren't as easy to get away from.

Yes Agreed... Two years ago teams would intentionally throw away from our standout corner Bobby Chalk in order to take him out of the game, so to speak.

That's true. Maybe Murphy won't have as many INT's as he'll have forced fumbles from some of the hits he'll be putting on people! How bout some of those the other night?

I think Tim will have 1000 yards, Donta will have 1000 yards, Malcolm may not reach 500 yards but his impact on other WR and the running game will be worth at least that much. Devin and Murphy may not have a lot of int's for 2 reasons 1) they are already well-known 2) The only two passing teams we face are Ennis and South...who likely wont have too many intercepts anyway. But the problem is those two are both safeties with great technical abilities as well as raw talent...safeties are given much more freedom and its much harder to throw away from a safety. Either this or this means more Int's for Jr. CBs Bryan Johnson and Dwight Hamilton.
Antwine may not get 10 sacks...but I think he will have at least 7...but generate sacks for the rest of the DL and LB's because of the 2 and sometimes 3 OL that will be put on him.

jeez, murph had some huge hits the other night. In fact, he was still pumped from them like 5 hrs after the game.

That guy is a monster...I would definately not want to be on his bad side. (a.k.a. the team on the other side of the ball)

I doubt Tim will throw for 1000, thats just not the Garland way....
But we do have a new OC, so I guess we will have to see.
Donta's numbers will be dictated by his health this year, and how much
running back by committee they use, which has been the case the last 2 years.
I hope the secondary will be good against the pass, we will find out in game 3, but we definitaly have some hitters!
Can't wait to see how they look in a real game Friday night.

I agree. 1000 yards through the air would indicate a complete revamping of the offense. I do think they will throw the ball much more than in the past - but no one will confuse our offense with South Garland or Ennis. We are still a run first team, but the threat of a passing game may just do wonders for our running game.
Not to throw any cold water on anything, by maybe we all need to slow down just a bit in predicting huge season numbers and the like. I'm as excited as any Owl fan, but we're basing a lot on a scrimmage with The Colony, who is not exactly a powerhouse.
Let's see how we look against some top level defenses like PESH, DeSoto, Ennis and Carter. That competition will tell us everything we need to know...
Hey '02, got your season tickets yet?

Yep, just bought them today. I moved straight up to the top of the isle from where I was last year, to get away from that fat woman you attacked during the Ennis game last year..... ;)
Stop up Friday night and say hello.

LOL!!! :D
Is that how the story is being told these days? It's not my fault she never wanted to stand up and yell - I think I must have kneed her in the back (accidentally) at least five times. It's good to be known for something.
I'm in the middle of an aisle this year - I got tired of having to get up and let people by to get their nachos for the whole game. I'll look for you on Friday...
