Who will take this one, and why?

OC, Because they are still pissed about being embarrased last year, and they have a MUCH improved D from Last year. Jay will get their Rushing yards but OC should take it. Overall though a low scoring game. I pick OC by 6pts.

O'Conner is a good team and I think they were pissed that they lost to Madison last year too! That didn't seem to help this year as Madison won 14-0. The Jay came won't be different. Jay's speed will hurt O'Conner. I'll take Jay.

OC went into the Madison game this year thinking it was already theirs and that they already won, they have a whole different mentality going into the Jay game. Either way it should be a good game.

I know! Especially last year! They handed you guys the ball wrapped in Pretty gold and blue paper on the 10 yard line! We should really work on your manners! But really if you were at the Pep rally that OC had for the Madison game, those boys were talking about State and how bad they are going to dominate and blah blah blah... I had to leave then, because I thought I was listening to T.O. I'm glad they got shut out that game, I haven't heard a single cocky peep out of the OC team since. So I look forward to this Friday!

Last year is history.....it's gonna be a game to watch....and could go either way. Neither team is so overpowering this year that this is a lay down hand.

jay is good, but has not played quality teams. o'connor is good and lost to a quality team(madison). i'm not 100% on this but i'll pick the o'connor until jay proves me wrong.

OC will win, Jay hasn't met a solid team yet this year. Additionally, Jay must have some team discipline problems with a starter being ejected last week in their blow out of Stevens. How does a person get thrown out when your dominating another team?
I'm sure OC won't let them off easy this year!!

I don't think Jay would be undefeated this year had they played two 26-5A schools like O'connor did. 26-5a is the class of the city right now. Play them (26-5a) and win, it's tough to due.

Jay will win this game. O'Conner still has problems with speed and Jay has a ton of it. O'Conner is big up front but very slow. Madison showed this. Madison gave up 35 pounds a man up front but it didn't matter because O'Conner couldn't keep up with Madison's speed. Jay is going to cause the same problems this year just like last year. Don't forget this is a Jay team that is returning 15 or 16 starters from last years team. Jay will win this game and 285a

Madison's speed was not an issue at the O'connor game. Both touchdowns came Madison's runner was hit at the line and broke through the tackle. Because the defensive end that made the hit didn't wrap up and relied on the impact to bring him down. He's was fired after that game. It was a good defensive game with O'Connor making the most mistakes.
Meanwhile, Jay was playing a 4A school!!!

Yes he did break the first tackle but after that I don't remember any O'Conner player catching him. LOL!
Look if you think O'Conner has speed...fine. We'll see this week. After watching a dozen or so teams they look slow to me. They've had trouble with the small backs as well. M Wright had a good game against them and D Thomas torched them and he left late in the 3rd quarter. Jay brings that same problem.
You could be right but we'll have to see.

Madison was also sloppy on offense. We had OC down on the 2 or 3 yard line and they committed penalties. They also had a bad snap that resulted in a fumble. Madison should have run away with this game. D. thomas went out with cramps at the end of the 3rd qtr. OC has trouble with speed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from Madison, they Outplayed O'Connor. They have a great team this year. But I don't believe Jay is the same Caliber as Madison. Madison has team discipline which Jay has not shown yet. OC went into the Madison game over confident and look what happened. They are not doing that this week for Jay!!!

I know you say they went into the game over confident but every parent and the few players that I heard from said this was a HUGE game for the program. They wanted to prove they could beat Madison and 265a. We'll all know by this time tomorrow who is better.

The Madison vs OC game is always a big game for OC, because it would be a win over a quality playoff team in 265A. OC has beat other 265 teams but they are middle of the pack at best teams when they play them. Out of the 8 or 9 years OC has been open OC has lost I believe all 6 games that they have played Madison. As of recently they have been very good games, but OC just never fares well at the end of the game. As for OC and Jay I believe it will be a good game, the speed Jay has all around will be a factor in this one, and if OC's D can not contain Jay's backfield it will be a long night. Does anyone know if Jay has another back as fast or close to as fast as Brew, like they did last year? If Zach young and Myron Brew were in the same back field, Jay would have this game. But I can't wait to find out what unfolds on the field tomorrow night!

OC's defense stepped up last night with 5 starters injured and not playing. Held their speed to less than 130 yds rushing. Additionally, When it looked like Jay had stopped OC their defense would jump offsides, no Discipline!!! Jay started the game playing a 5-3 defense. Worked great until OC made some passes.

your right about the lack of disciplined, Jay shot out of the gate quick but
peter out the 2nd half. OC T.J. Horny made the differance the second
half.:D
