I finally have a little free time on the net, so I thought I'd post a listing of the Pickem percentages so far...who the favorites are and such...

Things are going well over here in France. I'm performing well in the class, but I had a rough exam on Mud the other day...yes, Mud...drilling mud to be exact. I guess I won't be a Mud Engineer, but I suppose that's not altogether bad, right? :D Next week, we start the production stuff, so I should do pretty well from here on out.

Today is the halfway point of the class, so I'm pretty excited to be starting the homestretch...I can't wait to get back to Texas and see some football. I expect to see some detailed game reports next week!

Yes, myround0, I'll try to do a better job of keeping the leaderboard updated this year. KT2000 has me working like a dog around here, haha. Nah, seriously though, the first week I might be kinda slow because I won't be back yet, but I'll be better once I get home.

y'all only scored 70 and we actolly scored 21...one of the TDs was all me blocking Drew Winset on the goal line for TD...

we also had 3 TDs called back and one missed TD from 4th a goal...

I went to both Marshall and trhe Lview scrimmage. Marshall will have a very good run game but the Lobo D is pretty stout against the run. They got a great RB who just transferred in from Lview. Him J Robinson will be unstoppable to most teams(4a). Their QB is pretty good but i don't loke his chances against Lview in his first Varsity start...that's a tough draw. I think Longview will overwhelm them from the get-go. Not like last year when we came out flat and every Lview fan almost went into cardiac arrest.

Now on Rclisle41's comments. I agree. While I think their new starting QB will be good, it wont be in the first week. He barely could handle the pressure that LE put on him, what is it going to be like when Longview puts some on him.

The running game is definately the strong point for them like it is for us. One thing though is that we have an O Line to block the Marshall defenders and Marshall doesnt have an O Line..literally.

Both passing games were inconstant in the scrimmages. The difference in the passing game is that the Marshall QB would've had atleast 3/4ths of his passes picked off while Longview's QB(s) wouldn't have.

The passes for Marshall were the lob type passes and were always off his man. Some were nice but others were straight to defenders. On the Longview side, most of the passes were quick and right to his man and the recievers were the ones that just dropped them..

Personally right now, unless something major happens in practice, I wouldn't be surprised if Longview just literally shuts them out the entire game, something that hasnt been done in the series since 1999 when Longview beat Marshall 14-0 at Maverick Stadium. So we'll see how it goes, just how I feel about the game right now after seeing the Green/White Game, Red/White Game, Longview vs Lufkin, Marshall vs LE, and a few practices from both teams.
