Looks like there is conflicting info on the game. Some sources say
10:00 a.m Saturday and some say 7:00 p.m tonight (friday). Anyone
have the real scoop of when and where?

Thats what my schedule says too but some talk amongst players
to some female classmates indicate that there has been a change.
If there has been a change none of the websites have updated so
I guess Saturday at 10:00 a.m it is. If not, its gonna be a small crowd.

Is anybody going to be out there keeping stats like LoboFan07 will be doing for the Longview vs Lufkin scrimmage? He says he will be posting them on the net during the scrimmage.

O.K...I just spoke with a cheerleaders parent and they are walking
out the door to head to Arlington for the scrimmage. ITS TONIGHT!
How the heck did it get changed and no one knows about it. As far
as stats I will see what I can gather. It wont be til after the game
however. For those who were going tommorrow morning you may
want to start making calls to those in the know. I would hate to be
responsible for a needless trip tonight but I am going based on the info
I have. Hope we have some folks there besides players parents.

As a graduate of Sam Houston State University...
I am pissed...the nerve of these kids thinking they can
play with a college squad....

Oh.....it's a different Sam Houston....carry on.

Scrimmage completed...SLC looked very impressive. I don't know
what Sam Houston is suppossed to look like this year but the Dragons
looked unstopable tonight. No stats as of yet.

I know a scrimmage score is considered to be bogus by some. The
scoreboard is kept at 0 to 0 the entire scrimmage. But for those who
keep score it was somewhere in the neihborhood of 77 to 13.

I'm surprised Sam Houston accepted him! They must've not had good background checks back then. Pre 9/11 days! :p

At that time they needed a strong right hander with wicked
breaking stuff...and they settled for me.

I led the conference in most hoes pulled...and had a 1.21 era.

Does anyone have stats? I know Dodge (Riley) had at least one huge 70+ yard TD as a rec and Newton had some real big runs. What else do you guys have?

I think the final score, for whatever it's worth from a scrimmage, was 84-13. R.D. was involved in four TDs and Newton was well over 100 yards. McElroy looked very good, but had better watch out for Riley. Renfro did not play at all last night. But James Allen looked very sharp as a receiver for two (I think) TDs.

Lets get serious SLC vs Sam Houston, I don't even want to know how this one went, because we all know the results. SLC should try and schedule North Texas for their scrimage and quit messing around with lower tier teams like Sam Houston.

If I recall correctly, didn't Sam Houston have a very good game against the dragons in 2002 in the playoffs? 19-16? Something close like that? Am I mistakin or is that right?

Arlington Sam Houston gave us one hellava good battle in the 2002 playoffs. Held the Dragons to our lowest PS and offensive output that year. They have not made it back to the playoffs since Duncanville & Desoto were added to the Arlington District in last realignment.

Can someone who was at this scrimmage give a 'game' report. Go look at the post on the Longview-Lufkin scrimmage. Good detail there, can we have the same here by someone who was at SLC vs Sam H.

This is the best summary I've seen, from an earlier post...R.D. obviously is Riley Dodge...

If the starters had played the entire game, then Riley wouldn't have played. And from what i heard McElroy threw real good and the team played pretty solid.

i think somebody said this before, since they suddenly changed the game, not many dragon folk new about it, so it may be hard to get some stats
