its going to be a dallas FW or houston team as an underdog. Madison and churchill will not.

Yep. He asked for underdogs, those are underdogs with a chance. Either one of those teams can get hot and win two games... they get the Valley... beat another SA school... and they are almost in state.

If they are too prominent. Then I would go with Cedar Hill.

Have not heard much from Clear Lake this year. They got close a couple back or was it last year.
Someone like Abeline or Allen or Pearland would be a true underdog. I think though the biggest underdog in the state would be John Tyler. They are just barely 5A and yet they made some waves last year.

If SLC, Lufkin, etc are all knocked out of the playoffs, then current state contender-underdog Smithson Valley would win it.

SA Madison is really good. Can't wait for their match up with Smithson Valley.

What? they're no underdog at all, we already knew them being really good.

i meant someone who has a chance to really win it if the powerhouse teams get knocked out...top 15 teams can easily win it..so i guess you could say anyother teams can be underdoggs...but im still gonna say sa madison just cuz i think they might be able to knock somone off...but sa churchill could do it to...matter of fact 26-5a can do it atleast top 4 teams can...but yea if madison did it..that would be considered an underdoggg...

It was 2005 when we had our good run. We competley fell apart last year and set all kinds of fumble records. They should make the playoffs for 24-5a, especially with the 4th playoff team but I wouldnt peg them as a state contendor.

Pearland is probably the biggest underdog in Houston that would have a legit shot at state

I truly think cy-fair or cy-falls has the potential to make a run at state...

If you take out the normal 5a powers like Lufkin, SLC, Katy, NS, SV and Judson. Then I would say Consolidated, Carter, Plano East, Churchill and Cedar Hill. I also think Garland, Carter, Lee, and Longview could make some serious noise.

WESTFIELD.....after being hit by a ton of players graduating...they were pretty much written off. After seing them...I think they could be a darkhorse. Can't take them lightly.

That score is why I am not sold about the TWS being that bad. They came very very close to beating a major 5a power. That game was home right and the other 2 were on the road right? Lufkin plays at TWS so I still believe Lufkin will need to bring their A game to win. If the game was at Abe I feel Lufkin would win fairly easy but I think TWS can play with anybody at their home. I found that out in 04.

I second that - I still think they both have what it takes. They both made it to their respective regional finals last year and both gave Westfield and Katy a game to remember. Falls is basically the same team and Fair is showing that they didn't lose much from last year either.

0-3 JT has some major issues right now....pretty hard to consider them a underdog at this point.....Lee or Longview is more of a underdog than them....

now, now. we've never taken both halves of the title, so we aren't hoggish at all. we always let others share.

True. It's just that we don't which half of the title you're shooting for this year yet.

I like this list... but I would take Garland off (no offense intended) and add SA Madison.

i would have to say Richardson Berkner. nobody knows hardly anything about this team, but ive seen them play and they are really solid and went pretty far into the playoffs last year! they have a really nice defense...
