NORMAN, Okla. – Pacific-10 commissioner Tom Hansen said he will suspend all the officials, both on the field and in the replay booth, who worked Saturday's Oklahoma-Oregon game for one week.

In a statement released Monday, Hansen also apologized to OU for officials' errors that led to the Ducks' controversial 34-33 win in Eugene.

"The fact that the errors on the onside kick altered the outcome of the game is most unfortunate and unsettling," Hansen said in the statement. "We had a solid veteran crew assigned, and the instant replay official had a fine career as a referee in the Pac-10.

One week? are you kidding me? I think at least one season would get the point across. There needs to be a statement made to these and all officials that they need to get it right especially with a video replay. Those calls were completely Pac-10 biased.

Good call by the commish, but I'll say it again... heads should roll in Norman for signing off on a game with Pac 10 crews on the ground and in the booth. Never should have happend and somebody in the trailer park needs to take some responsibility for allowing this game to be put in this position.

Boren, OU president, sent a letter to the Big 12 commish saying he wants steps taken to get this game out of the books.

Wrong again. They can't. It is a Pac 10 rule. See my reply to you in another thread.

That's pretty harsh in the initial news report saying that the official HAD a great career... i wonder what this suspension is leading up to?

Two years ago when Oregon played in Norman do you know if it was a Big 12 crew that called the game? If not then yes you are right. I remember mybuddy and I watching that game and at some point in the first half Dan Fouts made a comment about it being a Pac 10 crew, when I heard that I asked him if he knew why and he didnt. Not smart on the OU part if they did not look into this before they signed the contract to play Oregon.

How is this not smart? When OU or any non conference team plays a Pac 10 team at their stadium the Pac 10 officials will be used. So are you really asking why did OU schedule Oregon at all? This had nothing to do with the officials at Norman.

If he's not, I am. If the Pac 10 insist in instituting a policy regarding it's officials that no other conference requires, then yes, I think it is the responsibility of the non-Pac 10 teams to question whether or not it is worth playing at a Pac 10 team under those circumstances. And I say that as a Texas fan who knows full well that my team has finalized a home and home series with UCLA and is supposedly looking into a home and home series with Cal. My hope is that Deloss Dodds and other powerful athletic directors with Pac 10 teams on their future schedules will look into this Oregon game and consider canceling their respective series if the Pac 10 does not change it's policy regarding home officials.

exactly, if they insist on using that rule then teams should not schedule pac 10 teams in non conference until the rule changes.
I still wonder if OU had a Big 12 crew or a Pac 10 crew call the game in Norman 2 years ago? What about Washington last week, was it a big 12 or a Pac 10 crew?

Baylor had problems with the Pac10 officals at the game at WSU this weekend. Now, Baylor is not OU so don't expect even an apology from the Pac10 over this.

Typical overeaction. Why suspend all the officials? The ones away from the play would not have even seen it.

It looks like the Visor agrees with what I said...

NORMAN — Oklahoma might reconsider the second game of the Sooners' home-and-home with Washington if the Pac-10 doesn't change a rule mandating only Pac-10 conference officials can work in Pac-10 stadiums, head coach Bob Stoops said Tuesday.

Now if we could just get ABC to suspend Fouts for a month or three.
