Abe Martin Update.

i saw the football players on the new turf today while picking my daugther up from school. it also looks like you won't be able to watch the game from outside the fence anymore. just thought i would let all of you know, that the turf is now done and the football players are finally on it for practice.

saw it a couple of days ago myself and its looking pretty good, i was wondering if the panther has always been on the 50 yd line or is that new this year. for some odd reason i couldnt remember if it was there last year.

Nope...in years past they put it on the 27...
Don't know why they decided on the 50 this year.
Must have lost a bet.

Yes - the Panther was there last year in the same spot - looks identical to me.

The Panther has been painted on the 50 yard line of the Abe Martin grass field since 1973. It was only natural that we continue that tradition with the new artificial grass surface. The football team and band will use the new field for their practice the next several days to help work the rubber pellets into the new surface. New fence covering is great, the free loaders may not like it, but they are not the main reason it was installed. The new PACKtron is ready to go, the production crew will have a complete game conditions test run at the stadium next Friday night.
